I need to find some money from somewhere to help my son, he had his car trashed by some local yobs & now is suffering abuse & intimidation from same yobs because the police were called. He now no longer feel safe where he lives.
So he is faced with finding the money to get his car repaired & to fund his move.

Hester, sorry to hear of your son's problems with thugs...would it be possible for you to take him in as a lodger for a while charging him just a minimum amount to cover what he costs you and enabling him to put together some money to fix his car and put towards his own home somewhere else? No idea of the logistics of this or other problems it might cause, hope the idea helps.

Hester - sorry to hear your son's got problems. I hope you can help him sort it out as you must be very worried. I'd follow Marie's suggestion if at all possible - I'd want him home with me but I do understand that this might not be possible.Do what you love :happyhear0

Hi all
Thanks for the kind thoughts.
My son knows he is welcome here at any time, the spare room is made up & ready as I told him. I think he just feels he's a 'grown up' & doesn't want to live at home.

Sometimes I'm relieved that we don't know what the Future will bring, as much for the Good Things that come to brighten our lives as to be prepared for the less attractive periods that can bring us down
That must have come as a real boost Genius & I hope the new job continues to bring you Happiness & likewise, you must be so proud of your son HH for wanting to make a stand. I'm not sure what it is I believe, but always remember my dad saying 'Every dog has his day' when things didn't go quite to plan. In my world that means when someone promises to return a favour & they renege, I don't have to plot revenge as it will occur in the natural order of things..& it always has done up till nowLike everything tho, the waiting is the hardest bit :rotfl:
It's going to be interesting to see what the tangoed blues have in store, but I'm pretty sure we are not going to like it. The rumours are once again hinting at VAT going on food, but I reckon the riots of the Thatcher years will be resurrected if they think they can get away with THAT one  Metinks this government might be in for a rougher ride than anyone could have imagined, as folk are no longer willing OR able to just sit back & take the consequences of the actions coming out of the Ivory Tower...

I've lurked on and off on this very excellent thread ever since it started but never seen to have anything constructive to say - until now
I've just found this website, a very new one which gives a meal plan, recipes and shopping list to feed a family of 2 adults and 2 teens for a month for only £100.
Yes, that is right, 4 people x 3 meals a day x 31 days = £100
The meal plan contains 5 fruit and veg a day, all the recommended vitamins and minerals and the correct protein/carb/fat levels.
What is more, the food is nice and you may well recognise some of the recipes from MSE
I do hope that this is of interest to some of you, and if it is, please spread the word.Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
