Yes Oystercatcher people are generous of spirit on here aren't they. Keep your chin up hunny. I do hope your hubby is well enough to go back to work soon but as I well know don't go back to work too soon after knee trouble- I did that and it slows down the recovery. try and teach your 18 year old to follow the moneysaving ideas, I did and it has worked really well - actually my 28 yr old son is tight lol

Wanted to share my good news on here as I've been so inspired by everyone - I have been unknowingly debt free since Monday!:j The last credit card payment was meant to go out tomorrow but for some reason they took it on Monday. Luckily there was enough in current account to pay it without going overdrawn (phew). Now I want to actually start saving some money for a change. OH has work for the next few weeks at least so hopefully things are finally starting to pick up on that front.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

What a lovely surprise! Thank you for sharing your good news!

I aren't debt free yet, still quite a bit of work still to do on that front - I don't think I could keep trying without the support and insprationthat I get from everyone on this and similar threads.

Most lunchtimes my colleagues play the 'my-overdraft/credit card bill-is bigger-than-yours' game over their M&S sandwiches and Costa coffees. Needless to say I feel a bit like the poor relation sat next to them with my hm packup :rotfl:

charlies-aunt But think how smug and relieved you will quietly feel when you're finally free of your debt and your work colleagues are all lying awake at night fretting that their expensive M & S sandwiches weren't such a good idea after all.
  • Well said primrose :T

Have been stocking up the cupboards like mad and also making sure DDs have a warm winter coat and boots, shoes etc. Also got new glasses for me and for two of my DDs recently.

Told DH yesterday that I had placed an order with appproved food as I was expecting it to be delivered on Wednesday.

Just as well I finally told him as it has just been delivered and he answered the door.

Really pleased with what has come especially Simple face wipes and face wash for £1 each!!!

We have about 30 cans of soup stowed away safely that cost about a fiver in total and some of them are brand name "big" soups.

The docking station for an ipod that is also an alarm clock should have been £25 but was £5 with a £25 order so that is a pressie for DD (14) sorted that she will not expect.

Tried to tell DH how good it was but he is unimpressed!!!!!

I mentioned the food site on an international forum I go on and a British member of a "survivalist" site (think peak oil etc) was very impressed at the low prices and has ordered stuff for people in Holland!!!! The delivery will be to the UK and then he or friends will take it abroad when they visit.

Just dashing off to the dentist ( another prep).

Sorry can someone tell me what 'approved food' is?
