whoever it was posted the link to lost.fm (I did thank your post)
I am using it over and over again, it is a fantastic resource and I am listening to lots of musicians and singers that I had never even heard of. Example, I entered wendy stark and am now listening to kevin wood.
Thank you very very much0 -
Well, its been an interesting few days, after destroying my expensive living room curtains by washing them when they should have been dry cleaned, I have had to buy new ones. Have only bought cheapies as money is really tight this month, having two kids birthdays and a car to tax and mot. Well I say cheap but still cost nearly £40. And I really dont like them very much at all, they are nowhere near as long as the old ones, but to buy floor length the cheapest would have been £80. I priced up some nice curtain material and again to fit the two windows would have come in at £80. Car still not through its MOT, has had all the little fiddly bits nearly done but its struggling with one last bit that is difficult to diagnose! Typical, then DH announces he fancies a holiday and do I think I could look into it? Men, are they really that oblivious? Its not like he has had any inconvenience over car, even thought its the car he uses for work normally, I have been left carless this week while he uses mine for work,. Leaving me to struggle organising alternative lifts for kids to get to school.
Took DS4 to hospital Optician appointment yesterday and as exoected he will def need glasses, visited optician in town and arranged a lovely pair completely free! Then DH decides that we would do better to buy another couple of pairs too?? At a minmum price of £55 a pair, I cannot understand his reasoning, especially as the optician says that they will repair or replace them if he breaks them, and that his prescription will change on eight weeks!
I looked at bank account earlier and we seem to be bleeding money at the moment and I have decided that Ihave obviously relaxed too much and its time to tighten up again.
Sorry for long rant,.0 -

I thought so - you do have very similar taste to me - I like Wendy Stark too. Can I suggest you will probably also like Era (try "Amena" by them)?
Twas Champys that posted that link - just as well and thanks Champys - as it said in the papers today that YouTube wont be making some?/all? of its music clips available for us in Britain to listen to any more (some argument about royalties):(- grr! only positive thought here for me being I had removed (darn it!) my YouTube music clips several months ago from my blog and my MSE threads - so leastways I'm not having to remove them all now...humph! or to quote our Weezl "pah!"..

Glad you like it! It was my younger brother who put me on to this.... he had it running one evening as 'dinner music' while we were eating, and I was fascinated!
I am going to put in Wendy Stark now, as I have never heard of her. Fun! Let's hope we can keep it for a while before anyone puts a spanner into the works as with YouTube....."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
Excellent site, I would sayideal for dinner party! Thanks!0

Hi Champys
Wendy Stark doesnt seem to be very well-known and I couldnt find her on your site - just "similar" artistes:
Try You Tube whilst you still can and put in "Wendy Stark" and it comes up with 2 choices - I put in "Galway, Ireland 2005" and shes there as background music on it with the C.D. I have of hers - ie "Child of Transference".
EDIT: I've just checked and one can get to that video clip by putting "Galway, Ireland 2005" into the search function anyway.
...ceridwen wandering off thinking "hmmm....think I'll just try variations on Celtic music and I should find stuff I like....my Celtic blood is obviously calling".....0 -
http://www.last.fm/music/Wendy+Stark is this her??
am really enjoying that site! I really like Adeimus and that style of music... so am having fun listening to similar music0 -
errr..nope....just try putting that "Galway, Ireland 2005" into the Google search function and right now that You Tube clip comes up 2nd on the list and that definitely IS her.
...and right at this moment - before most of YouTube vanishes from those of us in Britain...one can get Era by going to YouTube and putting "Ameno-Era" in search box.0 -
Bella and ceridwen. thanks so much for your replies.
I'll try really hard to take one day and one step at a time.
It was actually my decision to leave work, it was all too manic with 3 little ones, a husband away a lot and no family help, we thought we could afford it but after I gave up we then got hit with the tax credits double whammy. Hopefully when we remortgage we will be able to manage better though.
I have felt really run down and ill - cough, sore throat, generally shattered - for 6 weeks now. I've made a GP appointment for Thursday to see if there is anything else wrong, a bit anaemic or something. If they say there is nothing they can do I think I will cry!!!! But am feeling pleased that I made the appointment anyway.
I know I am rubbish at getting enough sleep. Once everything (kids, kitchen, tidying etc etc) is done at night its usually about 9pm and I want to watch telly/surf for a couple of hours and then spend ages getting ready for bed, before I know it its midnight ARGH and look at the time now. Must get to bed.
Night night
