One of our showers uses one of these. The same effect can be gained by turning the water flow (dial) down but the kids (and me) generally wack it up to full blast so it does the job well.

My Waterwidget arrived yesterday. It was straightforward to fit – don't forget to dig out the old washer and put in the nice new ones.

The good news is that it did not effect my shower badly. My shower was very strong before I started, now it feels about 90% of its former self. I believe that the device firstly restricts flow and secondly aerates the water to bulk out the spray.

I'd say it is different from turning the shower tap down.
