not sure if its been mentioned on this, if you open it ask for the statement to be sent quarterly or monthly if you want to keep track of how much is in and interest if you havent a current account, as you definatly cant access the details online if you havent (i checked today and the person i spoke to in branch was wrong about that)
the default for this account is for annual statements, so if you want to know more frequently how much is in it (ie the monthly interest earned etc) you may want to get them to change the statement to a more frequent optionMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

Just bumping this up the page,
Last chance today to get the 7.75% rate on the monthly savings account before the rate is reduced on Monday to 6%"When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".

they seem to have put £20 into my a/c, as well as my opening £20. Just topped it up to £250.
Seems this is an 'opening gift' ?0 -

Or The Abbey Fixed Rate Monthly Saver Issue 7. At the moment paying 6.66% if you make 1 withdrawal in a month or 7.25% if no withdrawals are made. Deposits of £20 to £250 a month allowed.
Fall back position looks like 7% at Halifax - assuming they don't pull theirs!"When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".

I'm so glad I went down to Abbey to open the account this afternoon as I was told they are slashing the rate on Monday so today was the last opportunity to get 7.25% :T“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Down to 4% or 5% I think. She said almost all their accounts are being slashed on Monday, one of them down to as little as 0.4%“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
