makming your own butter is soooo easy, even i can do it
as mentioned, try to get the double or whipping cream when its reduced
leave out of the fridge till room temperature, transfer into a glass jar, and shake !!!
just keeping shaking, it will change in consistency you will hear this, then it will feel like nothing is happening, eventually ( not long though ) it will set in a lump keep shaking till the fliud goes clear
then your done !! nice lump of butter i wrap in grease proof paper and the butter milk can be used in cooking, i use mine in soups
hope this helps

There was some double cream reduced to 10p today, so I bought some. Now it's in a jar and I'm shaking. It's gone quite thick.
But Daddy says it isn't going to workMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

Minor cross-with-selfness, in that my bread is just about done in oven but I forgot to use the buttermilk.
Question therefore: is it alright as a keeper in fridge?

buttermilk will keep a couple of days in the fridge, or you could freeze it.0

Double and whipping creams are 80p for 600ml in Morrisons at the moment :j"Finish each day And be done with it.

I managed to buy 3 pots of double cream for 5p each,so I poured them into the kenwood chef bowl and just switched it on,it only takes a few minutes to make some butter. Then scooped it out and placed in cold iced water to wash it.Added a little salt and it tastes fab.0
