Back from work now and don't have to go back until Thursday.

Taplady - sending lots of ((((hugs)))) to your poor friend and her family, and to you because the worry must be awful.

Beth - I hope you're taking it easy after that marathon weekend.

Well, work was fine today, not too busy so I managed to leave everything organised for Thursday.

The sun is beaming here but it's quite cold. I'm going to have my lunch then whip the hoover and duster around downstairs; I shall save upstairs until tomorrow. I need to sort out wool and knitting needles for DGD this afternoon and I've found an old French knitting set that she can try, too. I'm really looking forward to trying to teach her - both my boys wanted to learn when they were younger. They both succeeded but didn't further their knowledge beyond just wanting to know how!

Anyway, I'm starving so I'm off for lunch.

  • Hi all!

Another lovely sunny day here in Devon!

justpeyton4now - welcome to the thread honey!
Sunny - we had to remove a tree stump with a digger - it was on the edge of our property, but far too big to deal with any other way...
Lesley - Tristan says he has been feeling better the last few weeks than he has in ages so believes the Dr is full of cr*p (his words not mine!!) and I refuse to believe it either.
    tired_mum - thank you
Pippa - thank you for the compliment
reformed - thanks you for thelink hon
Taplady - I have been praying for you and your friend and will continue to do so - I am so sorry you are losing such a special friend.

Delivered the pinata to my nephews house last night but didn't get to see him of course. Hope he gets to beat it to death today after school anyway.:rotfl:

Baked some chocolate hobnobs last night and made spanish omlette with left over cold sausages and left over chicken with a few potatoes, onions and mushrooms and the last of the peppers on the indoor pepper plant. I am not inspired today so no idea what we will make.

I was going to write more but Treacle just had another fit and as she was at the top of the stairs at the time, the fit threw her all the way down them.. I can't bear it, that is two in a week which cannot be a good thing. Ian ran down and held her best he could. The worst thing is how she howls as she is coming back round, it sounds just like someone crying ohh nooooo. I know that sounds stupid but its a real yowl.

Can't write any more for now.

hugs to everyone who needs them

Taplady- Lesley and her family are in my thoughts,as are you (((hugs)))
Beth glad you had a great weekend, you can take it easy now :D

I've been MIA for a good few days,no particular reason just seemed busy, and DH has been hogging the laptop.I have been making the last of my Christmas cards-the class I'Ve been going to on Friday morning has re-inspired me.I'm really enjoying the class, the tutor is very jolly and the others are nice too,so its a change.I was tired when I got back as I did some Christmas shopping in town on my way back so I get best use out of my daysaver bus ticket!

Yesterday there was more bus hopping and shopping-had to call in the library as my books were due but it wouldnt let me renew online,it said my ticket was due to expire. The assistant didn't know why it had done that, renewed it for 3 years and waived the fine. Then I hopped back on another bus to go and put 2 cheques in thatDH has finally received. It was really busy in the bank so after waiting ages I finally stuck it in the quick deposit.
Got several pressies, which I have wrapped-some were clearance bargains in tkmaxs :j

Tomorrow I shall make Xmas pud and cake.I've just had hm minestrone and multigrain bread for lunch.Tea is chicken breasts for us and beef in gravy for ds2,and mash, all hm ready meals out of the freezer-trying to make space for Xmas goodies.
    Bye for now.x
Ps Sybil, don't set yourself too much to do and get yourself in a tizz, thats what i usually do.;)

    Diva-Oh poor Treacle(((Hugs))) and you

  • MSD - hugs to Treacle. It is horrible when they yowl. It sounds like a soul in torment. It is completely impossible to ignore, and it hurts when sometimes they don't want a cuddle. Hope Treacle feels better soon. Also, how are your knees?

  • Hello everybody - and hugs to all

Well today is my first day up and dressed for ages although admittedly I didn't get up until nearly 11.... :o Still feeling rough though. Had an e-bay alert today . Somebody won something on 1 Nov. Sent me a postal order (2nd class) which I don't accept but couldn't be bothered so hence it is still waiting to be cashed, e-mailed me on 12 to say "where is it" - replied I had 'flu and that I had passed it to hubby to post - who posted it on 13 and yesterday they have filed a complaint with e-bay!! Not even cashed the postal order (which they've spelt my surname wrong on but hopefully the local post office will be okay with it). I've responded to e-bay that I had told the buyer all this, the postal order didn't arrive until 9th and I asked them to let me know if they hadn't got the item - not file a complaint!!! Anyway, I have put NO POSTAL ORDERS in big, bold letters on my listings and will be firm and say no - instead of trying to be nice and accommodate people as you get no thanks. The other week I had somebody had a parcel take 10 days first class and all they did was ring me to say don't issue a refund it's turned up. Anyway, moan over......

Some of my ex-colleagues are keeping me informed about what's going on and let's just say a lot of fans are getting very messy..... shame......

Well, I doubt I will be doing much OS today although I may be writing my christmas cards in the next few days - I've already had two from switzerland!! Oh, you'll laugh at this. Y'know how I think my BIL and SIL and lazy and selfish, well I rang BIL last night to find out about what he and his Wife want for christmas (they are soooo difficult to buy for and basically a carrier bag with some designer name on would make them giddy). Anyway the first words he said when I said that we were thinking of coming up to spend Christmas with OH's parents was "oh well we've already booked to go out for christmas dinner (mainly because they are too lazy to cook, if it doesn't come as a ready meal from marks it ain't getting in their kitchen) and I don't know if the hotel will allow us any more people as we've got 15 (all her family I might add with Mr Rage's M&D thrown in as add on's to ease BIL's conscience) already". I let it pass but then he rang back and said he'd spoken to the hotel and there was one place left and "somebody might drop out"! I felt like telling him "shove it and we'll have cheese on toast in your parent's flat". Talk about making people feel welcome. Anyway I have passed it to Mr Rage for his consideration!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Good afternoon.

Taplady - thinking of Lesley and her family, and you of course xx

Well bright and blue skies here today, the dog came along happily for his walk for once, he really doesn't like the cold and rain!

Friend came round for coffee this morning, so had a good old chat (okay, gossip!) and a laugh. Been to dd3's parent teacher meeting, seems all is okay, she hasn't done anything that's come to light yet I guess, my dd that is, not the teacher lol!

OS wise, bacon joint in moski, will serve for the kids dinner with mini roasties and savoy cabbage and cheese sauce. Pineapple in the fridge for dessert - bargainous 69p in Aldi!

Have hoovered, swished and swiped, cleared up piles of bits and stuff the kids have left around - binned or on their beds! Made some more bread and yoghurt (Moo full fat UHT milk is 50p in Tesco, quite good price at the mo for UHT). Changed the bedding on my bed and got rid of some more clothes, ready for the clothes bank, must move them off the landing before I trip over them again!

Ordered some more Christmas bits and bobs, thanks to all on Grabbit, and now just going to have a surf before collecting dd3 from music club. W**k again tonight, pah! Must dig something out the freezer for my dinner to take with me.

Oh, forgot I did my own baked beans, they are delicious! Have portioned them all up into marg tubs ready to freeze, well except for the two that mysteriously disappeared with my friend!

Have a good rest of the day all xx
