    Nice chant :D

I shall be chanting on a regular basis:

"Think big, win big" and "holidays are coming easily to me" from now on then ;)
  • Nice to hear from you again, Emily. I love your thread but have been looking for posts in vain lately. Glad you are OK:T

I'm a Comper too and have won a few short breaks etc. I once won a 10-day Diving holiday at one of the Red Sea resorts as a surprise for my BIL but was not allowed to transfer it to anyone:mad: . So DH and I had to go:eek:. We didn't dive, of course:rotfl: . What a waste of a speciality prize in a way, but we spent the time in luxury at a superb hotel, went on a free trip to Luxor etc. So we really enjoyed it but my poor hardworking BIL ended up holiday-less once again. We stayed in the resort where the Blairs went a few times and was quite swish.

Just mentioning it as it is essential to check the Ts and Cs of holiday comps as more often than not the prize is NOT transferrable. Or do you plan to enter in your Mum/Auntie's names??? Sorry to mention this to a seasoned and very successful Comper but it caught me unawares and I've been entering them for years!

Good Luck anyway. Sounds like you need a holiday yourself so I really hope you manage to win one. The best thing about a prize holiday is that they usually treat you like royalty and don't skimp on anything.

Thank you - a diving holiday wouldn't be my idea of fun either to be honest :p

Fortunately, my mum and auntie want to go on a nice beach holiday to somewhere like Malta, Majorca, Italy, Spain, Portugal or a nice cruise whereas my boyfriend and I are more into going to America, maybe New Zealand, Australia etc so we like different holidays.

I've therefore been entering the comps in my mum's name if they are her sort of holiday or my name if it's for me and my boyfriend.

I've had to tell my mum thought that if she gets a phone call or anything through the post saying that she has won a holiday then it might not be a scam so she has to keep the letter or get the details on the phone for me to check out! I've got a horrible image of me winning her a cruise and she thinks it's a joke so she misses out  .

    Hi everyone

Looking for all of your lovely opinions here ;)

I currently have a current account with LloydsTSB with which I have a £3,000 overdraft which I am never out of and often go up to the limit on it. I've also got a debit card with that account. I am currently claiming back the charges. All of my direct debits come out of this account and I get my wages, DLA, AQA money & mystery shopping money paid into this.

I've got another current account with Nationwide which I only get my Ebay money paid into and that is all I really use it for. I transfer this money on to credit cards or withdraw it if I need it for something else. I've got no overdraft with this account and no debit card but I have got the ability to get direct debits paid from it.

Would it be a good idea to get my wages & AQA money paid into my Nationwide account and then transfer all my direct debits over there? I would then still have my DLA and mystery shopping money going into my LloydsTSB account which I could keep in there so that it could pay the interest on the overdraft and eventually clear it.

I would still have my debit card in case I needed to use it (all my credit cards have meet a grizzly death with a pair of scissors!) and I would just need to transfer some money over but I think that this would deter me from spending any money that I didn't need to because of the hassle of transferring it over.

I could maybe do it gradually and get my AQA money & a couple of direct debits transferred over or should I just bite the bullet and do it all together. Or is it just a bad idea?

    Any opinions welcome :D

Think that you should get the bulk of your money(if not all ) paid into the Nationwide account.

Thanks Beanielou - I think it's the only way I will be able to get rid of my overdraft to be honest.

I've got no debts with Nationwide so at least I know they won't ever close my account down for getting bank charges refunded or anything.

I'm going to put this thread to bed now as I'm not attempting to clear a debt a month anymore and I'm moving on to a new challenge for myself.

I will be starting a new thread shortly so keep your eyes peeled :D
