Can I clear a debt a month??

Hi everyone
My present winning is not going well. I've still not won anything for my boyfriend and I know that I've still got over a month yet but I want to get a contingency plan in place just in case I don't win anything.
We have said that we won't get eachother much for valentines day so I can make him a card for starters which won't cost anything and then I can utlise a donut maker that I got given for Christmas and make him some nice donuts. I've already got all of the ingredients and can find a nice cheap tin or something to put them in (maybe a heart shape) and use some of the vouchers I've got leftover to buy it.
Hopefully I will win something before I need to do that but at least I've got a plan in place.
I better get on with entering those comps!!

A little update - still not won anything about from a foreign DVD which I haven't received yet. I should be able to sell if for £5-£10 which will buy the ingredients and the tin for my boyfriend's donuts if I fail to win anything else.
My sister had another scan today and Little Em is doing fine. She is 4 months gone now so nearly half way there :j :j - I'm one excited auntie already
We've got over the £2,000 mark for Joshua's fund too which is great. It's his 1st birthday on the 29th January and we were aiming for £1,000 by then so we're pleased we have more than doubled that already.
Take care everyone

Congratulations on Joshua's fund, that's fantastic work em. It's amazing how quickly a year goes isn't it, are you doing anything special on his birthday? I lost a premie baby too when she was 9 weeks old and I still celebrate her birthday with cake and all, she would have been 11 now, some people think it's morbid after all these years but I see it as a happy day, she was only with us for a tiny lifetime but it was precious all the same.
I would love to know where you comp too, I need to get on with comping some pressies. I am aiming for all of my xmas and birthdays to either be won or bought over 50% off, had a good start in the sales but I really want to try to win some of the more expensive stuff, I never have much luck though so probably aiming to win SOMETHING by xmas 2010 would be more realistic
Wish I had a donut maker to make my OHs valentines gift with, all I have is a slow cooker but I just can't think of a romantic way to wrap chicken casserole:rotfl::A

I don't think it's morbid at all - we will always celebrate his birthday. This year we are going to get a number 1 made from flowers to put on his grave. Then we are going to buy some balloons and let them float up to him. I think it is more important to celebrate such a short life than it is a long life.
The competition websites I use are:
http://www.theprizefinder.com
http://www.competitions.com.cn/
For the Competitions website you need to pay to register which obviously won't be worthwhile for everyone but for me it is the best money I spend every year - it gives me access to loads of comps and I more than win back my subscription fee every year. The Prizefinder website is what I use for internet comps - this is a free website to join.
I hope that helps- keep at the comps and you will win some eventually, I have dry patches where I don't win anything and then I could win 10 prizes in a week.

Hi Emily, I was so glad to hear about your progress with Joshua's Fund, and your sisters scan. Can she feel the baby kicking yet? (Possibly a bit soon, but she will start to feel it in the next few weeks I think). I'm sitting here with what I believe is a small foot wedged firmly behind my bottom rib, which is rather uncomfortable, but strangely reassuring!
Hope you are fully recovered from your throat virus, and are looking after yourself.

Hi Snaggles
She can't feel the baby yet but probably will do in a few more weeks. I don't think this baby is as active as Joshua was. He was always kicking her and when we went for his scan, the nurse had problems taking pictures of him.
Little Em is far more settled and the nurse found her straight away. Joshua was very lanky though bless him, he was all arms and legs!
I'm glad that your little one is doing well and giving his/her mum a good kick in the ribs
I'm not too bad now health-wise thanks, I've still got something lurking but I don't feel too ill anymore. I'm only in work for 2 days next week and then I've got about 8 days off in a row though as I've got loads of leave to use up before April
Take care

Hey Emily, good to see that you are doing well with Joshuas fund, and I hope that your health continues to improve, and all this illness lurking stops in the near future. You're doing well with the olympic challenge, do you intend to use it to sort out the Barclaycard? Another tack you could try to win your boyfriend something good, is to write to the companies that own the products he might like, it doesn't have to be a complaint. I know the last company I worked for sent out a voucher to every letter, good or bad. Just a thought.Debt £5600 all 0%0

Thanks, we had our scan a couple of weeks ago and found out it's a girl, so she's going to be called Natasha Grace. I know it's a bit early to have chosen a name, but my Gran was really ill (she passed away on Sunday) so we wanted to be able to tell her the name of her Great Grand-daughter. She could hardly speak, but she smiled and managed to tell us how much she liked the name, so there's no changing our minds now.
We knew we liked the name Grace, but Natasha was just a name that hubby plucked out of thin air while he was looking at the monitor during the scan - he said it just popped into his head (it wasn't even on our list of favourite names, but I thought it was pretty).
Glad you're feeling a bit better, do take care though, and best wishes to your sister & Little Em."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Thanks for that idea, I might try and write a few letters and emails at the weekend. I am going to clear my Barclaycard but have had a bit of a set back in terms of my car - someone crashed into it and drove off so I'm going to have to go through my insurance and pay the excess (about £200 I think). Some people really annoy me - the car is driveable but it's all scratched and dented on the front!!
I might have to clear the old Barclaycard next month now - I should be able to pay £100 off it though
I won a Simon Webbe CD today but I don't think my boyfriend would want that- I should get at least £5 if I sell it and then I can put this towards something else for him. With that and the DVD that I've won (which haven't received yet) I should be able to get something in addition to the donuts.
There's still time to win something else so keeping my fingers crossed.

How very frustrating for you! All I have to offer you is my very best vibes so they're on their way to you now and I hope that they work for you.
