I made a huge hot chilli with Quorn and most of it is still in the freezer - shows I don't read packets! YUM!

ive found that green lentils give the same texture as minced beef, and if you add some bisto granules (obviously not vegi) then you get roughly the same flavour as minced beef

i cant be faffed to soak beans, so i buy them ready cooked in a tin. sainsburys do 3 tins for £1, and i find 1 tin gives the equivalent bulk as 1lb of minced beef, so works out alot cheaper

  • It does state on their website that if you are using frozen quorn products that you shouldn't refreeze after cooking. But as stated on here many people do and haven't got sick from doing so... So totally up to you 😊

I've been refreezing cooked quorn items for years. I'm still here, barely...but I'm still here!

The same with soya stuff. It all re-freezes.

The proof is that you're replying to a 9 year old post!

I have a feeling that it might age you all badly though. x

I asked this question last year direct to Quorn and this was their reply ...

    Dear

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the storage of Quorn products.

Homemade recipes such as cottage pie, lasagne, bolognese, curry, chilli, made using Quorn products (i.e. mince and pieces - chilled or frozen) are perfectly safe to eat cold or re-heat if they have been kept in the fridge and are eaten within 24 hours, please ensure that it is piping hot before serving.

You can also freeze extra portions or leftovers, if they have been cooked first and assuming all the other ingredients used are suitable for freezing.

Ensure they are cold before freezing and use within 1 month. We would advise defrosting before re-heating and again, ensure that it is piping hot before serving.

We will ask for this information to be added to our website.

Thank you once again for your enquiry and please do not hesitate to contact us again if you require any further information or advice.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

    Yours sincerely
