Tesco internet saver / card reader

'Card' means an Instant Access Savings Account Card.
You must make sure that:
All Cards are signed on receipt and always kept secure.
The Instant Access Savings Account and the Internet Saver are different accounts. The card for the Internet Saver does not require a signature nor is their space for one, it's purely for using with the card reader when using your account over the internet.0 -
My Tesco card is not plain. It is a blue card with TESCO in the top left corner, underlined with Tesco's normal dash - - - - underlining, plus it says "Internet Banking Card". Can't forget what mine's for.
My card is like yours, blue with the Tesco logo.
However, my wife has just received hers and it is black with a grey stripe on the bottom, no indication whatsoever that it is a Tesco banking card.0 -
I remember you posting (house purchase deposit?), but you must have got a 'jobsworth' because I had no such trouble making telephone withdrawals (2 or 3 from memory) whilst I waited for my card reader etc.YB - I had trouble whilst waiting a very long time for my card reader (detailed in another thread) and I was offered the opportunity to make a withdrawal by phone but only after being told "This is an internet only account and phone transactions are not allowed, but in this instance you can make one transaction by phone".
I seem to remember they also mentioned something about the Icelandic passport scheme in their T&C's. The same sloppy attention to detail? On their website they state:
Withdrawing Money
You can withdraw your money at any time. This will have to be transferred to a nominated account.
Withdrawals can only be requested by using the Online Service.
I did ask (on one of the other Tesco threads) if making the initial deposit by direct debit created a payee for that 'nominated' account, but don't remember getting a reply?I believe withdrawals can be made to the nominated account without the card reader (haven't done one of those)
At least it's still paying 6.50% though!
(he says tempting fate ) 0 -
I read on another thread it's been reduced to 6.00%.
edit: from Tesco website:
Please note: the interest rate on all our savings accounts will reduce by 0.50% Gross / AER with effect from the 27th November 2008.0 -

I found that on another thread earlier on, and I said exactly the same as you yesterday :rotfl:0 -

But how quick the next cut?...especially if December's MPC meeting delivers another substantial cut in base rates. Please note: the interest rate on all our savings accounts will reduce by 0.50% Gross / AER with effect from the 27th November 2008.

Must have changed things then, so they're not a lot of help now with no indication of what they are.
Hey, if they're changing things do you think they're getting their act together at last................ perhaps not :rotfl:0
