I just can't eat haven't had a meal since Sunday. Have been sick most days too. I know its my bodies way of dealing with stress. I have put all my barriers up.

Crying has happened lots and actually today is my first cry free day.

Even if you are being sick, you need to eat - even if it's just soup. You'll soon lose all your strength and feel tired all the time. Please try to take something to keep your strength up.

Just came to give you a hug and shout EAT SOMETHING! even if you can't face a whole meal just try and have wee bits and pieces throughout the day - some fruit or some toast... you need to keep your strength up hun. Have a laugh with your DD and try (I know it might be too difficult) to shut everything else out for a bit.

  • hey they are right you know, you need to eat, make you and dd a special sat brek if you can, especially if you have the big scary money chat later on (sorry to remind you).

When I split from my hubby we promised to ourselves to be as ridiculus as possible. Just to have fun. When my two were very little and money was as you say 'bankers wallet' we invented - 'anything you want for breakfast (as long as you get it yourself)' only on sundays - i know it sounds really stupid but its our special silly sunday morning thing. Often icecream was eaten, often pasta, leftovers, crisps etc. Was AND I have to say still is a very silly 'just us' routine. I often would/do cook bacon or toast later on in the morning so folks have a ridiculusly silly breakfast which gets you chatting cos its so silly (hmmmmmmmmmmm what do i fancy this morning) and then later on we usually sitdown to a proper brekkie. Makes the weekends somehow more special cos its us silly time and its not a part of dad's stuff so it bonds us more somehow cos we do the through the week stuff together.

Sorry if it doesnt make sense, making lots of fun when you have two wee ones out of nothing takes a bit of thinking on your feet. Alll my kids pals love sunday's here - cos they can indulge too - just a bit of silly free nonsense. xx

    Hi doodledo

Just wanted to send big hugs your way and ditto everything everyone else has said. I've been there, through my choice which didn't make it any easier at the time. I lost loads of weight really quickly and was just so lethargic, couldn't think about hours ahead never mind days ahead. But my best bud sat me down and reminded me that I was going to be completely useless to my kids if I didn't take care of myself, and reminded me that she was there for me to help me through. I appreciate you may not have someone to hand who can give you a boost, but you know we'll all be here for you, whether it's to give you a much needed hug, or give you a stern talking to about taking care of yourself, it's done with love.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

Me and my little girl are off to London today to see Father Christmas at Selfridges and I have booked a table at Planet Hollywood (courtesy of clubcard deals) so today will be a fun day and one where I will eat :D

I had this trip booked a while ago for all of us and wasn't sure whether to still go but decided late last night me and daughter should go, why should she miss out on this kind of an opportunity.

So today will be a good day! I may have to bore you all with photos later.

Have a great day doodledoo. If you are struggling to eat try things like hula hoops crisps - easy to eat - I use them as a way of steadying mine or the kids stomachs if we are ever sick. Also try things like knows chicken noodle soup which I use when we have colds - it is mostly water with some noodles in but quite easy to eat with a bit of bread. The other thing to try is full sugar drinks like sprite as you need to get something down you. Not good necessarily for the long term but you need to start somewhere. Sometimes greasy chips are good for comfort food too....

I'm sure you will have a fantastic day with your daughter - it would be really easy to "lose" this time... try and find positive memories to make instead...

    All the best *hugs*

    Hi,

I'm sure you don't feel like eating, it's perfectly normal. I don't know, maybe if you can't manage normal foods, then eating things that you like is better than nothing.

I think the only things I ate during that period was chocolate and wine (not advocating the wine as you have a daughter but I had no kids so was a bit of a mess). Someone at work asked me my job title and my brain was so scrambled I couldn't even tell them I was so close to a breakdown. Nasty woman complained to my boss about me. Luckily my boss had been through it and was great.

Not that it was good that he had been through it, great that he understood.
