I can't tell you whether you're good/ok/mediocre/bad parent. I don't know you or you children.... but I can tell you what comes through loud and clear from your posts... (which is the only way I can make any kind of judgement at all)... is that you really care about your brood, warts and all. You recognise they have faults, which not every parent does... but every parent should!

You are a bolshy mare in the best possible way ( I count myself as one, so it's a compliment) ... you don't suffer fools gladly and take very few prisoners. But everyone - even the very strongest among us has tough days/weeks. You've been through the wringer just recently. One of the things that really strikes me is that you're really tough on yourself.... you don't allow yourself to take a while to say "blimey that's been bl**dy horrible. I've been through it, and it'll take a while to re-adjust."

The stuff that goes on in your life would make a lesser woman crumble to dust. You having a wobble is hardly surprising. And, I think if you were to list everything that's happened the last month or so, you might review your desire for a dose of 'get a grip'.

As far as I'm concerned, 'get a grip' should be reserved for the days when we know that deep down nothing's that bad really. Not for those times when we'd have every right to be on our knees in a gibbering heap.

You need a good cry, and a good sleep, and you will be better tomorrow.... because you just will. Because life goes on, even when we don't want it to. You be good to you Mrs. You'll get no 'get a grip' from me.

thanks froddy And you are writing the school play because you are a warm caring person with oodles of hidden talents, amazing imagination & creativity, who humbly hides her abilities under the nearest holly bush, loves to see the kiddlies enjoying themselves and is a glutton for punishment! Is that a good enough reason???

Thanks Toots :rotfl: :rotfl: If only that were all true!!!

And soappie - I know the outline of what we're doing. The problems are - writing lines that the children can read / say (it's a special needs school) and are in simple enough language for signing; making sure all the pupils are included and not in just a tokenistic way; and working out the logistics of getting 6 classes of children on and off stage easily!!!

Hmmm - I didn't think about this part of the job when I accepted it!!!!

    :hello:

Been a looooooooooooooong day! Had funeral this morning which I was trying not to blub through but when my grandad was mentioned (who died 5 years ago now and employed the man who just died) I nearly went, then at the end they played Born to be Wild which nearly set me off as well! He'd also been into motorbiking so after the hearse went a load of people on motorbikes so I nearly burst into tears again.

So haven't done much at all today. Just got back from dancing and now I'm shattered!
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

It's lovely reading your warm responses to everyone, and I always sit here thinking... I was going to mention that or comment to her... or whatever, but I so often forget. Not you though babes... (((((hugs)))))

So far tonight i have made tea, put on WM bathed the girls and bought a couple more xmas bits online.

I am now going to watch Heroes and count my sealed pot (not really sealed its a quality sweet jar from last xmas) but it is full and I need it to go towards this years xmas spending.

I also need to remember that the tooth fairy needs to visit tonight
