Ironing now done and put away
Fridge cleaned
WM emptied and slung contents on airer
Just scarfing some late lunch - all this talk of soup was making me hungry - think I'll empty my veg drawer into a pan too and make a pasta bake and some HM bread to have for tea
I'm trying to do what someone suggested (I think it was on this board) and push back big shop day by a couple of days each week by, shock-horror, actually using some of the stuff in my cupboards rather than keep adding to the food mountain each week - I'm beginning to uncover stuff that I only usually see when I'm cleaning the shelvesand its certainly making my budget go much further
Next jobs - whack in a towel wash and make breadI'd rather be watching CSI!0 -

LOL Use a bigger knife and put it in point first so you have the whole length of the blade to push down with.
I've just peeled and chopped two; one for today's soup and one to put in the freezer with some chopped sweet potato ready for thursday; when I'm gonna make spicy bean, sweet potato and BNS stew.HowGreatThouArt wrote: »as an aside.. what day of the week do we post our mealplans? I had a look at the most recent thread and I can't work out whether I should post on that one or another one begins on Weds or Thurs?
The mealplan thread starts on a thursday. You could post your plan for the next few days on the current one and then post you week starting thursday on the new one.Or just wait til thursday
Its up to you.
Right I'm off to finish the soup...

Hi Guys

johanne, well done, sounds like you've turned the corner with the ex thing and well done for sticking up for little dudette too, it's not her fault if he doesn't do something she needs. I must admit I am more than aware how much space my partner takes up, how much of my time too. Great news with the Avon, well done you! It's hard work, I have done it before myself.
Mudbath, I have been wondering where you were! Great news about the miracle. 37 crates!!!!!!
((hugs)) for Natty
Collected DS1 at lunch time, thought the bug had missed him but think he might have picked it up at school when he went back yesterday, I can't thorough clean there as I have done at home which is why I think DS2 didn't pass it to any of us last week. Didn't get to go see Matthew because his family all have it too, even if I haven't been over someone else has passed it on.
Pleased I bumped into another parent at school who's son goes to Beavers, I missed a note to say they need to goto church in town instead of the Beaver hut tonight. DP will watch DS1 while I take him but will have to drag DS1 with me to collect him.
Seeing as I was stuck in I have, helped DP with my Mam's car (useful ith a crowbar and a socket set I am) blitzed the sitting room, junk now in boxes for who it belongs to! I just have the rug to vax later in the week and the ledges, oh window needs doing too... DPs been told he's cleaning the TV cabinet and it's contents, he wanted the glass one!!! Did a tip run when on way back from collecting DS1 dropping off a car load of junk and cardboard. Played host to an old friend of DPs we haven't seen for about 8 years properly (got in touch via facebook) making coffees etc. Vacuumed all of downstairs.
Not doing badRight need to sort DS2s uniform and clean his shoes as he's head to toe in mud from school! TTFN!!!
One day I might be more organised...........

The Daily Mail last week (wonder if that was the same day as the Chestnut Truffle Cake?- in which case it was Friday, coz I read it at the dentist's) :psuggested that we go back to our mothers and grandmothers way of shopping, going every couple of days or so, thus cutting down waste, encouraging meal planning etc, so I've been trying that. Obviously some stuff is more than enough for that day (ie frozen food) so tops up the freezer. I've started so I'll let you know how it goes. I know it's not always easy to fit it in, but most of us will go past a supermarket, greengrocers etc at least every 2 days, so I thought it was worth a go.
BTW - I didn't start the ironing till 3.30 after I took DS's GF home, but it's all done now! Yippee!DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
