    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmfffffff!!

    Ok that's better..lol

I am not having a good time with this darn kitchen saga.. After my lost kitchen still hasn't turned up I have been waiting diligently for a new one to be delivered today, only to get a really apologetic phone call from the lovely woman at Customer Services to say that my replacement kitchen hasn't been put on the carrier.. Poor woman couldn't quite get to grips with why I wasn't yelling and crying at her, when all I did was laugh. She has faithfully promised that I am to have this kitchen early tomorrow morning - it is going to be the first delivery off the carrier. And I have my step brother coming early to start ripping out.. So somehow I am going to have to put the kitchen units together as he is wanting to put them in.. oh joy!!

And I have had a tiff with DH regarding him leaving me to clearing out the kitchen and moving all the stuff on my own while he goes to work oblivious to everything, and then moaning at me because I am not all sweetness and light to him when he gets home. Oh please, if he leaves me to clear it on my own what does he expect!!

My living room is looking like a dumping ground, I have saucepans and various other objects on the middle landing halfway up the stairs and the clothes airer abandoned up one end of the living room..

And he was moaning that he has to take his pride and joy car out of the garage and put it on the drive for a couple of days.. Heck my car has to go halfway up our road to get parked..lol

And inbetween all this I am living with a half decorated living room..

Ok I am going to tackle some more clearing of cupboards in the kitchen..wish me luck!

Oh and I am still limping away so am going to the minor injury clinic tomorrow while step brother is here.

Anyone care to come to grey Kent to help me out..lol

  • I'm making curried butternut squash soup tomorrow, but I'm dreading hacking my way through the squash. Absolute nightmare, I always end up nearly chopping off my fingers!

I've never understood it when people say that. I find them really easy  Just use a really big sharp knife to chop in half widthways; and then stand the halves on the flat edge you've created by cutting them and cut them in half lengthways. Then scoop out the seeds, peel and chop. easy peasy. ;):p

Oh, and I am making pumpkin soup this afternoon. It seems like a very soupy afternoon.

Oooh I would if I could, honey- I sympathise....my kitchen cupboardsw and drawers have disgorged their contents (food, small appliances, saucepans, crockery, sharp implements) which are now in the dining room/hall/utility and I really hate the chaos!

I have tried to be "Pollyanna-ish", as in "I am glad that I can use this opportunity to clear out stuff we never use and send it to a good home (charity shop or eBay)" but I'm finding it hard going now that I am getting used to having a tidy home

Never mind, you and I will both be out of the chaos eventually, with lovely kitchens (I keep telling myself this LOL).

Sending you hugs and hoping they can do something to help at the Minor Injuries Unit!

lol! That's always my plan; but i find the knife only wants to go in half way and then won't come out so I end up sort of smacking it against the chopping board 'til it breaks in half!

I have to laugh. When we were having our new kitchen fitted in our old house, the units arrived on the Friday ready to be installed on the Monday. On the Saturday evening I was admitted to hospital with a burst appendix! Guess who had to do all the grafting? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: He was sooooooo good at it though!
