My 9 year old still believes in fairies and tbh I think things like that do really exist even if it is in your imagination, so Santa may not be a real person you can touch but as long as he keeps bringing presents to children he'll always exist if you get me. When DD1 was about 3 ish I told her she had a couple of fairies who looked after her at night and kept all the scary things away. She couldn't see them as they were shy and when it got light they would go to sleep amongst the stars but they were there watching out for her :) Maybe my imagination is just too big

    I LIVE a sitcom darlink!!!

Kettle was the absolutely VITAL pet which was worshipped a million times daily.. anyway he is all washed and ready to out in his box in a polystyrene shroud.. don't want people to think I ran a slovenly ship when he is dug up by Time Team in 5000 years time now do we?

I actually thought you meant a water otter:rotfl: :rotfl:

(ie I did wonder if it was a real water boiling kettle but then, knowing your penchant for odd names thought it might have been a small furry. Please tell me you're over your distress now...)

You'd be proud of me. Spare room is now ORGANISED chaos, as opposed to just a tip. I have started to arrange the furnitrure in there for my craft room, which it will be when i eventually get sorted out lol. There is even a patch of floor you can walk across, I am so proud of me hehe.

Way to go! So soon after moving, too!

It's horrible when children are told "too young" that FC doesn't exist. It's the only reason I bother with Christmas - seeing the excitement on my childrens' faces. Luckily over here children tend to believe longer than they do "across" - probably because of the fairies over here :D;) A lot of children still believe when they go up to year 7 - and get told during an RE lesson near to Christmas the he doesn't exist. My DD1 said at least one of her friends was surprised when she heard last year. My own DD1 stopped believing the Christmas before in year 6 - but she was very worried about telling me :rotfl:I think she thought I would be angry! I have sworn her to secrecy and told her she must keep the "lie" going with the younger two :rotfl:

I know I was in juniors when I found out, and I had to keep it a secret from Johanne (well she is 7 years younger than me ;):rotfl: ) and then we had to keep it going for our brothers sake, he grows out of it and not long after DD is born and now there's Johannes DD as well :rotfl::rotfl:

I've just remembered I need to get batteries before Thursday - there's late night shopping and the Christmas tree is being lit :D:D:D (http://www.liverpool08.com/streets/ChristmasEvents/index.asp ) :D:D Can't wait to take her next week to see the reindeer :j:j

It's amazing how many adults wave to the fairies at the Fairy Bridge! (and it's not even the real one - the real one is way off the beaten track)

That's really lovely. I think I'll tell my 3 year old that at bedtime. Mind you, on second thoughts she doesn't even believe that toys come alive at night and play . "They're just toys. OK" to quote her :rotfl::rotfl:
