I would like to nominate a new entrant for this months award.
REDFOX for her post about a pricing error on Tesco Renaissance Red/White Wine which has led me to get 42 bottles of wine for NOTHING

I've saved the text below.
Renaissance White
Was £20.46 Now £15.00
SPECIAL OFFER - 27% OFF! - save £5.46

CASE OF 12 (equivalent to £1.25 per bottle)
Delivery charge is just £5, no matter how many cases you order.
Renaissance Red

SPECIAL OFFER - 27% OFF! - save £5.46
Offer ends 09/01/2005
CASE OF 12 (equivalent to £1.25 per bottle)
Delivery charge is just £5, no matter how many cases you order.
The price should have been £15 for a box of six, not twelve as stated. So in readiness for a New Years Eve Bash, I ordered the following:
Qty Description Unit Price Line Price
3 Renaissance White 6 X 75cl 12| £15.00 £45.00
4 Renaissance Red 6 X 75cl 12| £15.00 £60.00
Subtotal of Items: £105.00
Delivery Charge: £5.00
Promotion Awarded: £-15.00
Total Discount: £-15.00
Total to pay: £95.00
A further £15 was saved by finding a discount voucher for any purchase over £100
The question was: Would Tesco send 42 or 84 bottles of wine for my £95, however, this evening, that has been resolved following an e-mail from Tesco.
Dear Mr xxxxxx,
You recently placed an order for one or more cases of Renaissance
wine. We regret that this case was incorrectly advertised as a
case of 12 bottles. The case actually contains 6 bottles. However
in recognition of our error and as a gesture of good we have
decided to refund the full price of the wine. The refund will
appear on your account after we have delivered your order.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience we may have
caused you.
Kinds regards,
Tesco Customer Service
So, this Saturday, I will get 42 bottles or red/white wine for £0.00
Cheers Redfox0 -

got my vote......just wish i'd ordered more!!
Nice one Redfox.....merry christmas....Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky.0 -
Not had my confirming e-mail from TESCO yest about the mess they made - but REDFOX gets my vote too!

-Sawanderer's superb 50% of train fares offer, and just in time for Christmas!!
Sadly it appears to end after the 8th - is there any way to set up email alerts for forum posts with specific key words mentioned? I'd been looking for train tickets for a couple of weeks, and got lucky that I found the thread this evening. Half the country could have saved a bomb on that!
I also nominate sawanderer! Missed out on Hong Kong but managed to get bargain train tickets for my brother's trip home from Uni.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0 -
I nominate the train ticket offer as more people could use it. Good luck sawanderer!
But the BA offer is probably the catch of the year. I would have bought a pair had I known earlier before they fixed it. Well, nevermind, at least I was born there0 -
I nominate MARTIN for helping me save thousands of pounds since following the advice on MoneySavingExpert.
It is the season of good will to all men after all.
Martin - I'm really looking forward to receiving my new MSE T-Shirt following a successful win on eBay. I'm really pleased that the charities will do very well out of the auction - what a great idea!!
I wish you all the Very Best for Christmas and the New Year.
Best Regards,
Your Humble Servant (and Love Child)
