changing ISP

Hi
I would avoid Tiscali at all costs, I have just left them because of their unreliable speeds and connections, at night my internet speed would crawl almost to a stop, I was on 2mb connection. I kept complaining to them, but most of the time I was ignored, so customer service is dreadful. I know that they are cheap, but believe me that doesn't necessarily mean good or best.
I was trying to get away from them for the last 18mths, but they wouldn't issue MAC Codes, but I think they got so fed up of me complaining, that they gave me one, (just to shut me up) and now I'm forever happy, different ISP, great connections and speed.
Hope this helps
have you been here and compared: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/compare.asp

True, but if you want to use NTL or blueyonder as your ISP you have to be in one of their cabled areas to get it.BR 4/10/07

Hiya...never heard of blueyonder !!!! I live i Poole in Dorset.I don't want a wireless modem that you have to have a phone package with.
Don't think we are in telewest cabled area!
Thanks for your replies-will investigate or OH will.Taken on board your comments on Tiscali. My mum and Brother are with Tiscali though and seem to be ok(i think)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I want money..........that's what I want !!:j0 -
You dont need a phone package with Blueyonder and the modem isnt wireless.
So no connection problems that may arise with wireless.0 -
albertross wrote:(unless I am missing something..(which is possible)) you can buy a wireless router (£60 ish), and use it, without changing your package with wanadoo, 24 hours a day..
.
I don't need to change ISP.Thanks
Thanks everyone for your repliesI want money..........that's what I want !!:j0 -
Hi Kazzy,
I've just moved your thread to the Internet Access board as I thought it was about ISP's but then caught sight of the last couple of posts where you're asking about routers. If you want it moving back to the Techie Board you could send a pm to Edinburghlass or Glad. :rudolf:Torgwen.....................

Bit of a latecomer to this thread but, for what it's worth, I have used Force 9 [part of the PlusNet ISP group] and always found them to be very good and reliable (and relatively cheap).....
