Does it work without the router when the PC is connected to the modem using the Ethernet cable?

Are you using a different PC to access the forum? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Switch everything off. Plug the lead from the modem into your computer
Power up the modem. Wait till it 'settles'
Power up the PC
Try the net
IF it works then power everything off. Plug the modem into the router (Make sure it goes to the 'solitary' connection (There should be 5 in all, 4 together and one by itself). And one lead into one of the remaining 4 sockets on the router and into the computer
Power up the modem. Wait for it to settle
Power up the router. Wait for it to settle
Boot up your computer
Its SHOULD work fine!:idea:0 -

Perhaps you could explain exactly what you are trying to achieve. Are you trying to get an additional PC to connect using wireless? Is the laptop connected via wireless? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

So you need to connect the tower to the router using an Ethernet cable assuming that it has an Ethernet port? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
