This is the one they sell at Poundland:

I nicked the picture from someone advertising on eBay :-)

Poundland have them in different colours too (i've seen Green, but I think there is a clear one too).
  • Thanks chaps, heres hoping for black, silver or clear :)
    .
  • None in N.Ireland
  • I got two in Ipswich Poundland yesterday, blue only.
One is fitted on my kids computerat the rear, spec is Pentium 4, Windows XP, and it runs mouse, keyboard, extension lead to MP3 player, and webcam. Leaves the two front USB ports free, and avoids damage from rogue kicks etc.
  • Anyone had problems with these hubs? Since using them both my computers have died on me. While I can't say for certain it was the hubs, I wonder if anyone else has experienced any problems?

Can you expand on "died" and can you explain how and can you explain how the usb hubs contributed to murder of your pcs?

    i think its unlikely!

My friend was showing me a USB Hub he bought for £1 today in Poundworld.

Looked pretty neat for the money - Seen these at a fiver or more in most places!

Can't confirm availability as my pound shop isn't a 'Poundworld' (Very confusing!)

Yep, this is the original thread for the "Poundland" one (don't know if it is any different to "Poundworld"):

  • My understanding is that XP has USB 2.0 drivers included in the operating system so that when you install a USB card/hub where the 'install new hardware' dialogue would generally search the CD for software it searches through the XP directories on your hard drive for the drivers.

However, if your operating system is pre-XP, i.e. Me, 98, etc., you would need a CD with the drivers on OR...

you can download the USB 2.0 drivers from here
