Arrgh - well if that's the case, these things aren't such great value after all. USB 1.1 is indeed compatible with USB 2.0 but any "high speed" USB devices you attach to the hub will be forced to work at USB 1.1 rates, which are about 40 times slower. This won't matter for keyboards and mice but will definitely make a difference with things like external hard drives. USB 1.1 hubs are legacy devices.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
I don't have any USB2 devices to test it but the packet states:
"Compliant with USB rev. 2.0
Supports self powered (USB2.0) and bus powered mode."
I know USB2 is back compatible but
Frankly I would be surprised if I were USB2 for the price although it does imply that - even so I still think it is good value - what did you expect for a quid?

They don't lie - it is compliant with USB 2.0 - as USB 1.1/2.0 are forward and backward compatible. Read more here:

Aris, just because one is backwards compatible with the other doesn't mean they are the same. Read my previous posting carefully.
Patr100, does the packet have the USB "High-speed" logo on it? Anyway, I assume it is 2.0 as that was how you started this thread!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

No it hasn't got the logo. I also assume it was USB2 because of what it says on the packet - as reported previously - if it isn't USB2 speed then it's misleading from the manufacturers -
