That's good - did it come with a power supply? If not, the total power will be limited to what you'd get out of one port.
(By the way, these things don't have any installation as such - they will "just work" with any operating system that supports USB.)Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
I've had one of these hubs for several months. It installed fine on Windows XP & i have digital mouse, camera & broadband modem plugged into it with no problems. Can't comment about printer as mine is broken but i can see any reason why it wouldn't be ok.

Intel, if you meant me, I wasn't "banging on" but only being helpful by reassuring anyone who might be worried that this might not work with their operating system, so no need for the sarcasm.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

I know they will self install in XP but there is no disk with it - if anyone is using Win 98 - and some are - in practice- it may not be as simple but if it hadn't installed as quickly in XP I would have been suspicious of it for the price..
No there's no power supply - That probably would have cost at least another quid.

Why? I've already got a USB hub and there isn't a Poundland for miles. I was merely fleshing out the original information, and have already complimented them on the find. I tried to offer help to others and you made an issue of it.
To the OP: is it really the case that hubs need drivers in Windows 98? I know mass storage devices do, but this is not the same thing. I believe that hubs are an integral part of the USB spec.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

ive had one for a while too, but nothing i plug into it seems to be recognised! i tried a workaround by connecting item into port directly then into hub, but no luck, probably not enough power as mentioned above, but useful for low powered peripheras.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0
