!!!!!! like you should be given prison sentences

Not for speeding but for admitting you were speeding then trying to cry your way out of the consequences

accept it like a man and hope your employers dont disclipline you

There speaks someone who either doesn't drive, or has never broken a speed limit in their entire life of driving.

    - Take it on the chin mate, don't rock a boat.
  • Eh guess what???

The speeding fine came through this morning and they phoned me to ask who took the car as they got the speeding fine.............It wasn't me :rotfl: :T
Here I was worrying over nothing!

Just means I shall have to more careful.
If this has helped you please don't forget to click Thanks, thankyou.

Eh? The speeding fine automatically goes to the registered keeper first.

So are you saying it wasn't you driving at the time the camera caught the vehicle speeding and someone else held their hands up or are you chuffed to little apples because the speeding ticket went to someone else?

If its the latter, you've not got reason to celebrate yet because as I said above, it goes to the registered keeper first. Just remember you've posted on a public forum that you were driving it...

The really important point is was he driving safely in a car that was owned by someone else that he would not be 100% familiar with?

The really really important thing is that they were speeding, through roadworks in an unfamiliar car with the probability of a workforce in the road.....

FACT: 800 accidents are reported every year, but many other accidents go unreported. (Source: TRL 2000)
FACT: 11 roadworkers were killed in roadworks on motorways or trunk roads in England between October 2000 and February 2002. This equates to a 1 in 1000 (Source: HSE 2002)
FACT: According to research by Dr Stephen Roberts reported in The Lancet, roadworkers have the 16th most hazardous occupation in Great Britain; higher even than for military personnel.

Because mortgages aren't included in most cases when referring to or talking about debt because most people have to pay for a roof over their heads for a large part of their lives either via a mortgage or through renting.

0/10 trollboy, go crawl back under your stone.
  • I thought that's what you said you meant.....

Good luck with your quest. I did it

No it doesn't. The NIP goes to the Registered Keeper asking them to identify who was driving the vehicle at the time of the alledged offence. The “Fine” is then issued to the person identified as the driver by the Registered Keeper in their reply to the NIP.

So something is not correct here. either the Registerd Keeper has messed up the reply to the NIP by identifying themself as the driver at the time. Or, the OP was not the driver and the original information that they were asking the question over was flawed.

Just one more point. It is inappropriare speed that is the problem and not exceeding an artificially determined speed limit. All the latest eveidence has yet again demonstrated that speed camears and the like have done nothing to improve road safety and in some instances have had the opposite impact. The only effective and sensible solution is for real people to “police” real problems. They can then take a sensible and realistic view of the risk caused at any particular moment in time. Nothing is ever as black and white as a speed limit, which in some instances will be too low but in plenty of others can be much too high.

How many roadworkers were killed in collisions with motor vehicles, how many of those vehicles were exceeding the posted limit, and whose fault was each accident?

Roadworkers are in the construction industry. Of course its dangerous !!!!!!.

And as we all know, the Transport Research Laboratory, and the Health & Safety Executive, are never guilty of contributing to the Government's spin and lies regarding speed cameras and road safety statistics. :rotfl:

BTW, which 15 occupations are considered more dangerous than being in the Army or working on the roads?

Edit: Ok, I found the article, it's trawlermen and suchlike who have the most hazardous jobs. Oh dear, I just noticed that Lorry Drivers are 10th on that list, so no doubt St Conor of Chorley will be along soon to get even more sanctimonious.
