  • Cleaning is kind of out of the window - nothing but windowlene and mr sheen left in the cupboard - windows were done 2 weeks ago...and I can't be bothered with the dusting!:D

I know there are cheaper ways of doing the cleaning than with all these expensive products - but can anyone tell me what to use and where to use it - I know about the white vinegar and bi-carb, but I don't know what to do with it!!

Also, cheap ways of cleaning laminate flooring? Sweeping isn't working - it just moves the dirt around (although a new brush might help!) I did have some wipe things, but to do my livingroom & hall I was getting through about 5 a time (maybe that's more telling of how messy I am!). :o

sel chick, if you check/ask on the moneysaving old style they are full of tips on how to clean your house with all those funny products ie vinegar. They are a wealth of knowledge and always seem happy to help. Someone on here may have some ideas, but not me!! I stick to the normal cleaning products ie polish and bathroom spray!!

    4. Checked Internet banking, made sure I took DH's petrol money out of his account as I paid for it from my account (his card only works in cash machines as chip is a bit loose) usually I "forget" to do it straightaway then when I do remember he has spent it.
    5. It's a nice day, so we haven't needed the heating or fire on.

Hiya - i was brought up on an island where washingn up liquid did for most things - diluted does floors etc etc etc in a squishy bottle does surfaces etc etc - but then again I am a cheap skate, if I do buy something like flash I only use a cap ful in a squishy bottle and it lasts months.

Laminate floors - I use to use value baby wipes - or if feeling flush then ona BOGOFF offer get nicer ones, they pick up everything and if the rooms not too big I findit easier on hands and knees, athough you can attach them to those laminate floor cleaner things. It sounds like a faf but baby wipes are amazing.

Thus my secrety baby wipe fettish is out. will post my lovely dffw things next as feeling very good today!

  • Sort of coasted along today.

DD has been home for weekend with BF, but today has been a nsd.
Yesterday wasn't exactly:rolleyes: a nsd DD wanted to go shopping for food, before she went back.

She paid for that. She bought BF's xmas pressies, that came out of her ebay money. I bought dh's xmas beer from Asda. 3 for £20 (that money came from something sold in week by him) So I spent £1 on satsumas £1.56 4 bottles of lemon coke for dh and 2 2 litre bottles of Robinsons for £2. Total £4.56 (food budget) The only thing that was extra was the underwear I bought her £9, but she was getting desperate.

    So back to today.
Washing done on 30 deg overnight.
Washing in tumble dryer to go on economy 7
    Shred papers no longer needed.
    Check items for ebay.
    List few more ebay items
    Store cupboard dinner
    Do meal planner for week
Work out which christmas pressies I can buy with which vouchers
See what I have left to buy after that.
    Make GF loaf for ds
Put Files away that I have put paperwork in
Look for 10 more items to ebay. I really need to up my extra income.

Tidied conservatory all I need to do is clean it:D
I need to ring friends to sort days/evenings I sort of have no control over what I am supposed to be doing with each one, and if I am not careful it will cost me more than I can afford.
    Clean bath
DD and BF have just gone back to Doncaster so I have not excuse for sitting here doing nothing:D

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday:j
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
  • Ok today (second mini list)

Sorted out window cleaner once a month (think land lord pays but must check it out)
Went shopping, bought two NOTW got two vouchers and nice girl put through my shopping until I had 30quid and took a voucher, then put through second part of shopping and then took second voucher - what a nice girl.
Brother paid for NOTW so vouchers free - he he
    Did meal planner
Got value ham and chicken roll stuff and split it up into 4 portions cos we never use it all til it goes off, so now have 3 in freezer 1 in fridge ina tub. Money saving or what?!!
Bought reduced milk, bread (warburtons 32p) x6 froze
Got teas, brekkies and packedlunch stuff for the week
Bartered with DS who wanted to buy two cupasoups for £1.50 ended up with one value price soup (20p) and one packet chick noodle soup pot size (50p) so both happy - he got the spend the extra on those crisps he likes that are silly price per packet.
GOt extra bits for making muffins etc DD making them now
Lodger room, dun, dusted bedding ironed and tea is about to be sorted for tomorrow.
Heating is off tonight - thinking might do night about?! (60 a week oil is too much for my budget wondering abouut some electric radiators on freecycle?)

    Evening all

Laura2481, regarding Molten Brown, I was recently browsing a random Co-op leaflet which had a set (own brand I guess) which suspiciously had packaging which looked like the Molten Brown packaging. I don’t have a big Co-op near me so I haven’t looked but might be worth having a nosey?

    Andan, huge list! J

Sophiesmum hope you feel better soon.

    • Asda – used £3+ coupons off my shopping
