Aye,;) that's all these free light bulb companies are going to get from me, Paddinton bear's details, because they haven't sent me any bulbs. I think they are a con. I gave over information to them which I'm only realising now that a frauster could easily use :o

Hi Godders, I don't want to query the removal of the address I posted as it belongs to Paddington Bear, but could you tell us if there are policies or advice given about posting or reading links which ask for personal details like national security numbers, etc? The reason I ask is because links were provided on this site which asked for national insurance numbers along with names and addresses in order to gain free light bulbs.

I know I was fooled into giving out personal information by a link posted. I'm not the type of person to be easily conned and I'm wondering if there could be some kind of alert system when someone posts a link which asks for personal details. Advice could be given to readers when they click the link, just to remind them. When there are numerous other posts stating what a great and wonderfull offer this is we tend to drop our guard and the scammers take advantage of this. An alert system may be a usefull tool to build up member confidence, help keep members alert to dangers and prevent the scammers taking adavantage of a great site.
