hello savingholmes and thanks for popping over to say hi.
I feel like all why work has just been blown out the window and a waste of time! Hubby was on the PS3 store and has managed to withdraw £30 from our bank that doesnt have £30 in, so now not only are we £30 down we will get some stupid amount of bank carges added on!!!! think it works out nearly £50 as you get £30 for going over drawn and £20 for using card when dont have the money in the bank!!! so thats a great start!! He said it was a mistake and he meant to press the back button but it clicked confirm or something!! arrrrr. oh well i guess i cant do anything about it now! i will ring up the bank and ask if they can be taken of as i know they will do one every so often as good will but i dont know if i have done that reasently or not?!? so fingers crossed that i can get them taken of. But anyway we only have £150 of cash available spare for next mth so now thats already done to £120..
Anyway going to try and look at some positives.....
I cooked a big batch of mince today and managed to bulk it up with veg etc and made a big lasagna and froze some for a meal soon, also a small amount that will be good for a snack for hubby or for me on my own!! so saved some pennies there not only by making the food go a little further with added veg etc but now i have something easy to defrost i will be less likely to order a take away!! Also managed to grate some carrots in there and nobody could even tell they were in there so a great way to get the girls to eat there veg!
Today i have had a NSD and havent used and diesel so thats all good. Hubby did some overtime so will get some extra money in for christmas.
Tomorrow wont be a NSD as in the morning we are going to go get the new fish. After we are going to help 'do up' the trailer that santa will be going round our village in. So dd1 thinks santa has asked us specially to help him as he is far to busy getting ready for xmas!! I have got the Lamb out of the freezer and already cut the potatoes and veg all ready for tomorrow as i think it will be a busy day and dont want us to give in and say will just get a take away!
going to go make a nice hot chocolate and try and forget about the charges we are going to get!!!!

Hello again - I think you are doing the right thing trying to keep positive. It sounds like bank and credit cards need to be left at home for the time being... Emergency money - couple of quid and a phone and that should help keep budget back on track... Now why can't I do that:think: :wall:
The kids have not been very happy recently - not sure why so took them to the cinema today as a special treat... £25! Also spent about £20 at the shops on I don't know quite what... probably less than half was actually needed....:o I don't know why I do that.... Did get a refund on a top of about £6 tho, and have won £24 on bongo!:j So hopefully things will balance out eventually...
Anyway keep persevering. Have you joined the £10 a day challenge? I strongly recommend it...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

the playstation store is on his computer and once you put the card number in it remembers it!!! which is a pain as if he had to put the number etc in it wouldnt of happened, (he has stopped himself having a card so he wont spend on it!!) just wish it hadnt happened! ohwell.....

£10 a day
* Car boot, selling to friends,
* cash back sites, gambling loopholes, winnings from gambling sites that only joined for the greater than stake cash back, for bongo take out the first o and replace with an i!
* There are free scratch cards on a number of sites where you can also make money.
* I include tesco clubcard vouchers, have an M&S card so get cashback from there too.
* I include the first month savings when I've changed suppliers and saved money eg £30 saving pcm on insurance, £28 on broadband/phone etc
* printable coupons from another part of this website. Some months I have had £10-15 just thro that
* send off for free samples - sometimes you get a money off coupon too - Mr Ts take any coupons if they sell the product...
* profit on expenses mileage rates
* gifts
* savings on childcare thro changes in hours, DS reducing childcare - counted that for last few months as it is not guaranteed to continue - I'm currently on an hours trial...
* savings on car insurance thro a) shopping around and b) using cash back sites
* savings that I got from being cheeky and bargaining where OH would have paid first price.... one of my car bills went from £79 the week before to £32 the following week when I took it in to get the work actually done!:money:
I had never gambled in my life B4 and wouldn't recommend it, however I have joined gambling sites where you can get paid upto £40 for staking and wagering £10. This month I have won over £100 for about £20 total stake and then got cashback on top! :j :j :j
Just so that you are not tempted to gamble tho - there have been lots of sites where I've joined and got absolutely no winnings at all. If I averaged all my stakes against my winnings I've probably broken even but had to join lots of sites to achieve it - It is only the cashback on the cashback site (I'm not talking about the bonus money on the bongo website) that makes it worth doing and risk free (providing you are disciplined and withdraw money asap rather than wagering it all). You do have to bear in mind that there is a risk that the cashback site won't pay up - and also read the Ts and Cs no matter how boring. You could look at the gambling loopholes thread for more info if you are interested...

im off to look up the pritable coupons aswell, see if i can use any.....if i find them lol
