The new free Avast is great ... I'm using it now for a change from AVG to see how it performs, up to now it's brill.

Oh dear, it doesn't block malicious scripts. Not really something you want to be missing out when a lot of malware is done via scripts.0 -
Id recommend downloading MALWAREBYTES too then, as theres a good chance you still have something on it!

UPDATE and FULL SCAN
If it finds anything, post the log here AFTER youve deleted the nasties
(Malwarebytes doesnt use any resources, its JUST a scanner)

Avast is a RESIDENT shield. meaning it scans everything (to a point) you do on your computer in 'real time'.
Malwarebytes is ONLY a scanner (You manually tell it to scan the drives)
Its quite alright having both on your machine at the same time

it amazing that people want things for NOTHING. rather than spend £20 on a decent internet security package as a stand alone AV package is not effective these days.0
