Morning everyone, well its chucking it down here. In work today, chunky veg soup for tea, I had to peel the veg last night as OH struggles some days to hold the peeler.

N9aev - nice little win. I won a bit more than that about eight years ago, haven't won anything since. I have saved a fair amount though as I have done the lottery for about three years.

    Morning all,

Not raining here :T , so will get some washing out on the line, I have four lots to do, will try and get three done before we go out today, i try to keep housework to a minimum over the weekend, just do washing and hoovering and general tidying, as we like to get out, today dd is off with her dad, and oh and I will go walking with little dog.

DD is off to sleep at her nans for the night :T so OH and I are off to a leaving party for some friends who are emigrating to Aussie land (poor things ) :D , so we have a child free night, not sure how we will keep ourselves busy ;) .

Jacket spuds for tea, with cheese ham, and some of the delicious pickles we bought at the wi market, have never made my own, but its something i would like to try.

N9eav, congrats on your winnings :T the drinkies are on you tonight then ?

Yesterday I counted up all the loose change that OH has been collecting since last Xmas, we put it all in a pot and save it all year there was £90 :T , which is goint to get all the xmas goodies food wise, with my necter points we should be more than covered.

I have just about finished my xmas shopping, just little bits for stocking to get for dd, and thats it :T .

Jackie, have a fun evening with all your family xx

    Have good days all xx

    Mornin
Its looking nice outside at the mo, but give it time

Off to the mums at 10, with various bits and pieces of shopping and stuff out of the freezer, beef stew and pasta bakes I made in the week....when I could fit it in.....ah well at least I know they are getting a hot meal every day, especially Mil as she is too doddery to cook for herself now, and the carers will only do microwave meals.
I want to get back in time to see Strictly....you know.....I never used to like it but since I came in here I have got hooked on it, and I do loads of knitting while I am watching :D

My friend bought me "Dreamboats and Petticoats" for my birthday, and we had it on in the car on the way down yesterday, ooo it was wonderful, bought back so many memories, not that I am old you understand  :rotfl:

Brekkie will be toasted muffin at Mums
Lunch bacon sarnie at Mil's (its the only time she has bacon, and its her favourite)
Dinner will be the usual for Saturday, MrM's Pepperoni Pizza

Thanks Diva we spoke to the lady who owns the site last night and she gave us a price, I am all for it (I love Devon) but OH is unsure as he wonders how much we will use it, I get so  at him sometimes (he's lovely really) I just wish he would make a decision, ah well, we have to ring her on Monday with our answer, I will let you know:smiley:
    N9eav congrats, what a nice surprise :T
halight ouch!!! it was worth it though wasnt it ;)
VickyA Now thats an idea, "Soup for all seasons" I will put it on my Christmas wish list, I seem to have been making the same old soup since forever Ta x

    Good Morning Everyone

Its turning into quite a nice day here.It was all grey and drizzly earlier.

The kids have decided on a housebound day so I'll be having a quick run round tidying up and then occupy myself in the kitchen getting those much neglected tasks done.I've got some cucumbers and onions to get salted ready for pickling tomorrow.I've also got 6kg of tomatoes that I bought for £2.50.I'm think of sticking them in the slow cooker with some mixed herbs so that I can stick them in the freezer ready for pasta sauces.

I've some leftover bol sauce in the fridge that I'm going to turn into Lasagne tonight for the kids.Might do some garlic bread too if I can find the inspiration.Still got some rocky road in the fridge so the kids can have that with the pineapple ice cream I made yesterday.

Other than that it will be crocheting and cross stitching

    oh and x-factor

ravysley.ever thought of doing some pickle with those toms.....

    3lb toms
1 lb apples (sour is better)
    8 oz oninons
    8 oz sultanas
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 oz root ginger
    8 oz sugar ( i mixed 4oz white 4 oz brown)
    1/2 pint vinegar..

peel toms apples and onions cut into small peices add to large saucepan with vinegar and sultanas NOT SUGAR YET..( put ginger into musin bag I also added some spice mix) drop bag into saucepan and boil for 10 min...turn heat down add sugar and heat while stirring untill consistancy of pickle desired...

remove bag and place mix into warmed jars..

I made mine last year (07) it is now Sooo.. nice...

PS when first heating the vinegar smell permeates the whole house so make sure kitchen door is shut and windows in kitchen are open

    Hello everybody,

Just relaxing with a wine atm. Been down at YS house this morning washing windows & painting trims etc. I've had DGS since about 2pm so only went down there to have arv tea with DH. We are putting in a big day tomorrow. It was hot as hell here today. More rain on the way I"d say. Took DGS to Mass tonight. There is a little girl his age that goes. They were so cute. :D He kept telling me he's got a new friend. ;)

Had leftover HM Pizza for tea tonight followed by icecream & nectarines. That's the last of them. I've eaten practically all of them myself. :o They're my fav stone fruit. My brains a bit tired atm so <hugs> to those not well & congrats to those celebrating good fortune. Hope you have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning everyone :j

Bargainbird my friends returned. Been up early waking up the sort of newlyweds with cups of tea - they are off now to Heathrow and onto the Seychelles...lucky them! Made them a champagne (cava ;) really) breakfast with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on muffins. They were sooo excited about the 'lovemoon journey as they call it'

The pumpkin and apple curry went down well last night and I made hot chocolate pudding as well. OH is having the curry leftovers for lunch this afternoon but I am off to see my playschool friend and have dinner at her mums with my mum (does that make sense? It's making my head hurt) Baby is changed and ready for nanas arrival and fast asleep in her rubber ring, mouth open... very sweet.

I need to get ready and tidy the kitchen - it looks like a bombs gone off after making breakfast. Should only take about 10 minutes though and then I'm sitting down with the paper, providing Ruby is still asleep (doubtful)

Congratulations Taplady on your exam results!

    Enjoy the cooking JackieO!

Everyone have a great Saturday - and vote for JLS on X factor!!! :D
  • Morning all:hello:

shez, it was lovely to *see* you yesterday, I'd only mentioned you the day before in a PM:D

Vicky, tell DH he needs a new duvet, mine managed to "pin me down" a lot later than his did;) :rotfl:

It's a lovely dry day, but chillier than I thought they forecast. Was thinking of gardening today, but somehow I think I might find some indoor chores, until it warms up a bit more:o I really should take a leaf out of Aussie's book and wash some windows. That seems a good compromise, half in half out:D

Lunch today is HM soup and HM bread, dinner will be something from the freezer. Could be interesting since I'm not necessarily the best at labelling things:whistle:  :o Why is it that things that look *unmistakable* fresh, take on this uniform look once frozen?

Hope you all have good days, CM x
