Making cards - Ideas for a card craft beginner (part 2)

Hello lovely ladies!
I'm struggling to find time for crafting and blogging at the moment. Just back from DUblin (lovely girly weekend and I have amazing eyelash extensions!) and work is sooo busy. We're off camping at the weekend so fingers crossed for OK weather please.
Hope everyone who is poorly is getting better and everyone who needs hugs is getting them!
Anyway - gorgeous cards everyone. I must say it's slightly odd seeing all the Christmas cards. I think I'll have to give that challenge a miss - I find it really hard to get into my Christmas cards and then like to do loads at once. Will try and work out what other challenges are on the go - will pop over to CP in a mo and check it out.
I was asked today to make an engagement congratulations card -for some reason I find these and anniversary cards quite tricky - so of course I did a pocket card!0 -
Does anyone know where I can buy some deep purple coloured/damson card blanks.Preferably about 14cm square .I need to get my wedding invitations sent out but I just cannot find the right cards."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

furry - I'm jealous too; 5 minutes!! I wish I could make a card that looks that good in so little time.
Mrs Tidge - glad you had a good weekend; I'd love to see a pic of those eyelash extensions, I have an image of something very long and wavy - I'm sure that can't be right! I love your engagement card, the paper's lovely. It would almost qualify for the July challenge on CP, to use only one colour (or shades of one colour).
Speaking of CP, I've just posted my card for the July challenge in the Gallery. I'm thinking of entering it in this week's CCC challenge as well, if that's okay?some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Furry your DD's card is fab! So sweet!
JHB Lovely card
Rusty your cards are lovely!
Mrstidge stunning engagement card. I've still to make a pocket card!:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -
Jailhousebabe - sounds like you got a great price on the scallop punch. Your xmas card is really pretty - I think the silver fibres look fab!! Your challenge card is lovely too - the blues look great together.
Mydazmena - you could try selling your bits on ebay - if you put "create and craft" in the blurb their stuff normally sells quite well.
Rusty - fab xmas cards - you are good managing to make two, I think both are equally gorgeous.
Furrypig - fab card by Molly - really pretty colours!!!
Mrs Tidge - great anniversary card, I love the champagne bottle image.
I really need to get cracking on my challenge cards - I haven't done anything yet!!!
A friend of ours popped around this afternoon - he does loads of car boots and he offered to take some of my cards for me - and he doesn't want any commission!!! Trouble is I'm not sure how much people would be willing to pay at a car boot, I think I'd want 2 quid per card. I thought maybe I could charge 2.50 each and then say that its 2 for 4 quid - that way people think they are getting a bargain. What does everyone think????? I figured I ought to get cracking and make some men's/ boys cards so there's a bit of choice - I hope I'm not getting my hopes up too much!!!0 -
JHB - my DH did ask how they attach the extensions on the end of the lashes! Actually they are just individual false lashes but I think they look groovy - although I just rubbed my eyes and a couple fell off so I think I may have to take them off tonight! Still, I had my fun with them at the weekend!0

Thankyou for all your kind comments
Gemm, I cheated and shamelessly stole the idea from there :rotfl: and now I have been caught!I used a square card then used a compass from top corner to bottom corner putting the pin of the compass in the bottom corner ... drew faintly then used my scalpel to cut
JHB - now you can understand why I was quite freaked by it :rotfl: very scary, I also hope your nesties arrive tomorrow :j :j
Furry - What a beautiful card your daughter has made very prettybless her
MrsTidge - beautiful card, really pretty, love the tag for inside
I haven't had a chance to catch up on blogs this evening ... my MIL has asked me to make a hamper for tomorrow  so I have to forget my early night to go make up all the tags for it ... I guess I should be flattered as she loved the getting old hamper I did for FIL's birthday from the kids lolRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Fabby xmas cards - am going to struggle now as most of my xmas stash has been used - lol.
Hmmmmmm will have a think tomorrow.
New stuff on my blog including a winning entry for Funky Fairys - I got a brill free download :c)Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hi All.
I don't get to post much due to health problems but thought you may be interested in the sale at Docafts, some good end of line clearance items:
http://www.docrafts.co.uk/asp/products/b2c.asp?b2c=1&p=546
The 40 Xmas stamp set will be great for Xmas crafting for the kids- its only 2.49 (could give them as prezzies as well.
Was someone wanting Winnie the Pooh stamps cos they are on there as well at 4.99:
Not cheap postage (£3.99) but if you want a few things may be ok.
I have the original Sizzix machine would like a new one. I was looking at the Big Shot or Cuttlebug - probably the latter due to storage space lol.
Do you know if the Cuttlebug takes the BigZ XL dles as I quite like some of those. Did someone on here post the candy box recently as think that is an XL Dle.0
