Rainmac - the oldest wasn't really bothered about being evacuated, but the youngest got really confused and kept saying that we could never go back to Nanny's house because it was going to explode!!

Rusty - I'm feeling so much better now that its cooler!! I'm getting scared though as it could be any day now!!! I don't feel ready!! I'm managing to get a bit of sorting out done though, so the house is a bit clearer.

quickisave ive done some experimenting with a small cupcake image. Ive used black ink and clear embossing powder. I would post a picture but you cant really tell in the pictures!.
So this is what i did:

-I stamped the image with black ink and embossed immediately with clear powder- v effective raised black lines.
-I then watercoloured the imaged and embossed again immediately. This didnt seem to make the image any more embossed or raised.
-I stamped and embossed the imagae again and got the same raised effect as before :jbut this time coloured with markers directly then embossed a second time- again no further effect.

-I then stamped the image again but this time continue to colour the image in watercolour after i finished it [abt 1min later small image] i put clear powder over whole image and heated immediately. looks v slighly raised but cant feel it under thumb.
-I stamped it again but instead coloured directly with markers. the same result was produced- no real effect.

As a result i think you need to emboss asap when the ink is wet to get the raised effect, then colour and possibly emboss again:confused:

npsmama sent me some images that she had stamped and embossed too. They were briiliant for colouring as the old eyesight isn't so good now and I need two pairs of reading glasses to see the fine lines. These were Magnolia images and for me, absolutely perfect.

For the nestie (ers) here I've put a picture of a flower I made using circle nesties over in the gallery on CP. Hope you like it.

Your flower is really lovely The Wife. Yours is much nicer than the one on You tube. I can't wait for my circle nesties to arrive :)

Thanks for giving us the results of your experiments, I didn't get chance to do mine, inlaws have just gone after visiting (< tuts at the inconvenience >). That cupcake image you are trying to emboss looks quite tricky because its got so much white on it. Are you watercolouring shading? (Sorry everyone for monopolising this thread on this subject!)

On a different topic, I got 'Craft Stamper' magazine yesterday and they are promoting 'a brand new stamping and beading show' that takes place in my home town (Leamington Spa) on 3rd & 4th Oct this year! This is great news for me, as there's hardly any crafting facilities here in the Midlands, its all up North. If you can make it to Birmingham you could make it here - "it specialises in stamping and jewellery making and along with 70 stands it will have workshops from some fabulous stamping experts" Visit www.artisanshow.co.uk for more info. I'm salivating already! :D

The nestie flower is gorgeous, and lovely papers you have used,
Jennie, Can you remember the fab pink card you sent me in the June swap. The stamped flowers are mounted on what looks like white card embossed with the swiss dots folder and then maybe chalked with pink......I am wondering if it is chalked or how you have got the colour onto the dots?
