Making cards - Ideas for a card craft beginner (part 2)

Paddington - Was the life guard dishy or were you too traumatised to notice? Just had to chuckle as I pictured the scene.
I can't remember but they had to take me in their hut thingy to recover
.
DD used to tell people (including her dad my ex) that I'd thrown her down some steps on the beach - as if I didn't feel bad enough already :rotfl:.
Wish I couldn't stamp - just bought 2 new used ones on eBay for 99p each that would have been a total of £15 new though
. Guess what I'm now off to do..................... Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Thank you for your comments about my charity shop find and the magazine kits. Skiergirl - he he, I'm glad I'm not the only one who bought the magazine for the male set!
flourgirl - yes I could use the girly paper for the challenge card couldn't I? I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet, particularly as I can't draw, all your drawings are amazing.
Melissa - what is the big bite like? I've seen it on QVC before and wondered how easy it is to use in 'real life' for someone who isn't Dawn Bibby.
flourgirl and rainmac - I love your summer challenge cards - they are gorgeous.
The-wife - well done on setting up a blog. I absolutely love the photo of your pinboard with all the handmade cards you have been given, what a fantastic idea! I love the colour purple - what's your purple hat like?
Mumhug - great Thomas card and I love the card for your mum, it's lovely.
Louby Lou Lou - your challenge card is so striking, great combination of colours. Good luck tomorrow doing your stall. How about putting your last few cards in resealable freezer bags? The ones I use are clear and they would be fine in I'm sure.
Craftygranny - I wish my boyfriend would buy me craft presents. I asked for the Slice as an early birthday present and he refused to get it for me because it was "craft stuff." My mum and dad very kindly got it for me though. As I said at the time... I was right, they won't let me play with it before my birthday (11th July) but I tried!
JailhouseBabe - I can't believe the receipent stamped all over the bookmark you made her! I share your anger!
CT19720 - I love New York, I'm sure you'll have a great time. I spent the period between Christmas and a bit after New Year there a few years ago, it was amazing. Apparently craft stuff is really cheap there especially in a shop called Wallmart so stock up! If you like make up, toiletries, perfume, etc, you have to go a shop called Sephora, it is heaven and reasonably priced.
Rusty - how fantastic that you have a nappy cake stockist - that's great news.
Manson666 - so sorry to hear you are having an awful time. I agree with JailhouseBabe, if there was something significant to worry about they would ask you to see someone else in your consultant's absence. Plus they have a duty of care, they wouldn't make you wait if they shouldn't do especially because he's on leave, they just couldn't do that I'm sure of it.
I too am having a difficult time, it is nice to come on here and see what everyone is up to.
Love to you all,
Lucy x0 -
I have been trying to upload a picture for the June challenge on Craftyplace. It seems to load the picture which I have saved in a folder on my computer but it does not actually show it

I am probably being dim - has anyone else tried to do it this way as I do not have a photobucket account.
Please help the non-techie

Lucy Lu - sorry you're having a rough time too. To be honest I've hardly used my big bite. I've punched a couple of holes, set a few eyelets and let OH's belt out - that's it!!! But I think it's probably one of those pieces of kit that comes in really useful now and then, but for me its not something that I'll use all the time.
I've just started a tour of blogland - I'll probably be there for a few days while I try and catch up on everyone's creations.
Rainmac - I love your post-it-note holders they are brilliant gifts! Your pocket cards are fab too - how about a sachet of popping candy in the kids ones??? Or something like a temporary tattoo??0 -
Lucy Lu - sorry you are having a difficult time
Melissa75 - I watched the first few series of BB too but now cannot stand the wannabe celebrities - far too much playing up to the camera in my opinion
I have been surfing the net and have not found what I was looking for but have found quite a good site with some nice freebie images on. I have downloaded the paisley doodles but have not printed them off yet.

Lucy lu so sorry you're having a rough time but coming here for a gozzie always seems to help, (((HUGZ)))
You don't stop worrying about your kids even when they've grown up, then the grandchildren come along and you've got a whole new generation to worry about.
One son of mine was always in and out of A & E but in those days I ran a roller skating rink and he was often falling off his skates and ending up in a heap with a few on top of him. Another son has had most of his accidents as he has reached his 30's. No.1 son as he's reached his 40's, even with my daughter when she would be out till late I'd be laying there worrying away 'til I heard the key in the door !!
Off to check out the blogs from my blog (:rotfl:)
Lucy lu the purple hat will be up on the blog in February. Being a Red Hatter for your birthday month you swap your colours around, you wear red with a purple hat instead of purple with a red hat. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
Just a quickie to say I've uploaded my entry to the Crafty Place June challenge.
Could someone tell me how I can get a Crafty Place banner/logo/clickthrough or whatever it's called for my blog?
EmmaOC - I added the pic to my blog 1st and then used the url. I always know the long way round to do anything though!!0 -
gorgeous cards everyone, very sorry but I'm going to chicken out of making individual comments, I am just sooo tired tonight I want to collapse, you know how your eyes sting when you're tired... I think it's from doing my first 5 day week at work in about a month lol. I'd never cope if I had babies waking up at all hours, I think I;d be a walking zombie lol
I have however succumbed to the lili of the valley stamp sale, only spent £8 though. I really liked the look of the swirly messages stamps but sadly they were already sold out, ah well. I got the kitty holding a present, a reindeer one and a baby in pram as I don't have any baby stamps yet!
manson 666 sorry to hear about your recent troubles, I agree with the others, what your boss has done sounds appalling
npsmama what an awful shock you had with your little one, main thing is that he's OK xx and can't wait to see the piglets
louby wishing you lots of luck for your craft fair tomorrow!
Emma - if you're having trouble uploading pics on Crafty place have a look at the tutorial here, give me a shout if you're still having trouble after that and I'll take a look for you0 -
sorry I forgot to mention Marg, thanks for your beautiful card

EmmaOC - I think the first series for me will always be the best - just because it was all a bit more innocent and the housemates seemed to be more themselves. Sorry can't help with uploading pics - I haven't tried it yet on there.
Craftygranny - I've just been to your blog - there's some lovely things on there - i really like your baby shoes and your wedding cake template.
Jailhousebabe - your door hangers and bookmarks are gorgeous. Can I ask what papers they are at the bottom of the door hangers - the ones with the butterflies on, is it the smirk ones???0
