Evening ladies, I enjoyed a sneaky day off with DS1 at our local farm as it was TD day - and managed to finish off a couple of cards too of course!

Thanks to all of you who are now 'following' me and for your kind comments. I am going to try and get into personals as time goes by but must say it's a bit weird jumping in as if I know you all (which I do having lurked for so long!)

Melissa - you are going to get me into so much trouble with all your bargains - if only I could resist clicking the links I'd be OK!

I have tonight discovered digital stamps - why have I not heard of this before? I am quite a rubbish stamper and have so many attempts before I get a decent one the digital stamps are perfect for me. I really like Pollycraft (still no links) but will have to have a concentratred session to stop myself buying everything!

I've done a separate blog entry with my 1st ever challenge entry on it. I've used this style many times before (image/layering and ribbon) and really like it.

Now watching BNTM - I'm so shallow!

ps The Wife - I love your card - I'll echo the comments re. ruching - I shall be stealing your idea shortly!

    PS...

Could someone please explain the etiquette re. 'thanking' on posts? I'm not quite sure what to do!

Mrs Tidge I usually thank everyone as I read their post. If I have been absent for a few days and there are lots to catch up on then a general post to thank everyone is okay.

Okay ladies BARGAIN ALERT (well I think so anyway!!!). I just managed to get a fiskers border punch for 5.85 with free delivery - from Amazon!!! The design is a bit bigger than I wanted but its really pretty and for that price I don't care!! It doesn't punch through card but its fine on paper and punches through the thick basic grey paper. These normally sell for about 8-10 quid but I've seen them in some places for 12 quid:

I got the sunburst one from The Range yesterday for £7.99 which is cheaper than the one on Amazon which I had on my wish list :D.

On the subject of punches - has anyone seen a reasonably priced scallop border punch? Like threading water but without the holes?
I did a scallop border the other night with small punched circles but it was a pain lining them all up - looked ok though (eventually) :rotfl:
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

    Hello all,

Just in case anyone doesn't know, there's a lot of crafting on QVC tomorrow and a crafting Today's Special Value starting tonight at midnight. I've set the recorder and I'm tempted to stay up late!

ribbon ruche - a bit fiddly at first but try it first with a spare bit of ribbon and a piece of card and some narrow double sided tape.

Working from left to right, lay a small piece of tape down on the card, just a couple of inches, press down a small amount of your ribbon just to hold it in place and then pinch a piece of ribbon between thumb & finger press the ribbon down onto the tape behind your pinch with the tip of your finger, pinch again and press the ribbon down onto the tape behind the pinch. The card has about 6 pinches. When you made the amount of ruches (pinches) you want or you've come to the end of the first piece of tape lay some further ribbon tape down to the edge or to wherever you want and you should be able to stick the rest of your ribbon down flat to the edge of your card.

Please, please let me know if this is understandable as what swirls around the brain doesn't always reach the fingertips! Fiddly but a lovely effect.
 Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"!
