I have really loved seeing all the credit crunch cards and realise just how much money I can save by making cards as none of these challenge cards looked cheap in the least!!! Thanks everyone for sharing all your ideas.
here is my credit crunch card
the card itself, glitter card squares and pink embellishment were all given to me by a fellow mse'r (thanks again!) so cost 0p, the 3 pink gems were given to me by someone who said they wouldn't use them (cost 0p) and lastly the ribbon was cut from an item of clothing (cost 0p) so amazingly i have managed to make a card at a personal cost of 0p (excluding the glue of course!!)
0p :T:T:T:T:TThink you've won the challenge there missus, was your idea for the challenge too so very fitting:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
fianally I made a card for my dad's birthday which was on Good Friday. He loves pottering about in his garden and grows hundreds of plants, fruit and trees and is really green fingered so I wanted to show this in the card. At least this one turned out well!!0

congratulations on the voucher win! :j was it a card competition?
shame you have no hobbycrafts near you, could you maybe look on their website for what you want and order over the phone via one of their stores?
they should be able to sort it out for you somehow, do let us know what they arrange and what you get with your winnings :T0 -

I use the Glitter Girls Keepsake embossing board to make the bookatrix cards. I found it tricky at first but now have the hang of it.
Here it is
Its about £15 but I think its well worth it and there are other designs on the back to make some fab embossed flowers and tags which can also be used as a design feature for the actual card.
You will also need an embossing tool to go with itThese are around £2.50 each on Ebay.
I also have the box maker board which the bookatrix fits into, it also has templates to make smaller boxes ideal for presenting jewellery, handmade choc slabs etc and on the back is the alphabet and numbers which look great embossed on pearlised papers.

Aww thanks so much. I`m working on loads of new cards as my hubby has kindly bought me a cuttlebug which I love! The embossing folders are fab!

yes Marg my local Craft Central (near Burton) closed down just before Xmas, would you mind saying which out of town shopping centre you went to?
I have read on another forum that the one near Derby (Alvaston I think) has re-opened up again recently which isn't too far from me, but I haven't visited yet
Gemm85 - the Craft Central in Derby is part of Derby Garden Centre, Alfreton Road, Little Eaton. It is just off the A38 at Little Eaton where the Little Chef is. I saw it had re-opened last week when I was at the garden centre buying tomato plants ! Don't go to Alvaston as that is the wrong direction :rotfl:0 -
