Well ladies I have had an absolutely horrendous day. Our whole street and the next one had a power cut this morning at about 4am and the electric finally came back on at about 9pm. I was just packing my stuff when the lights came back on to stay the night with the kids at the m-i-l s house.
Mary - most scrapbooks have a spine in the middle like a book, but an accordion one is like a concertina - a long sheet of card that is folded. Does that make any sense at all?
    Witsend - a lovely poem!
Rainmac - I like how your friend did the letters too, I could do with making some like that for my scrapbook pages.
    Thanks abusybee.

Here are some more cards that I have made today for upcoming birthdays:

This is the only handmade christmas card I'm doing, it is of some friends who are going to Australia for Christmas, and I am giving them some money to go and visit the Penguins at Phillip Island, so we superimposed them on to the beach!

Finally, my first male card, which I am quite pleased with:

This is my wedding invitation that I made last year, that has originally given me the bug for making cards. It was quite fiddely as I had to make the bows from scratch and sew on the little beads the the bottom, and after making 80 cards I was getting almost perfect!

Having made 80 day invites, I went on to make 80 thankyou cards too - can't post photo as I didn't keep one for me!
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Went to Christmas Fair last night and bought a ring backed book with plain pages I can use for a small scrapbook I think..............just need to stick some paper on the front and back cover.

I had my package from Mad about cards waiting for me at home today and it was full of goodies!!! I was very excited to get it all.
Don't know what anyone else thinks but whenever I order say £40 worth of stuff it never looks that much when it arrives!! Although hubby said 'you have loads of craft stuff now!'
The pound section on the site is very good and I ordered the dovecraft christmas wishes 8 x 8 set which is lovely and very good value.

Furrypig - I was going to get one of the xmas dovecraft sets from madabout cards but I never did, I wish I had now. My Mum sent me a text today to say that the flowers from scrapfairies had arrived, so hopefully yours will arrive soon.
mary - my pleasure, I tried to explain it as best as I could.
CT19720 - fantastic cards, the xmas one is really clever.

Hi everyone, this is my first post with in the card making threads. I really only tend to make Christmas cards and Thank you cards as I always seem to run out of time for Birthday cards and then end up buying something rubbish for £3

I'm still yet to make my Christmas cards for this year, but I have the idea in my head so it should be fairly straight forward. I like to make quite simple cards and do batches of them rather than all individual ones - my ideas last much longer that way :rotfl:

Anyway Christmas '06 I made lots of different cards to get ideas of what I liked and what was easy to do so I'll post some here for you to see, and maybe provide some inspiration! Once I have this years cards done I'll post a picture of them too.

    200610150012pf3.jpg

I Hadn't quite got the hang of stamping so a lot of my stamps were blurred/smudged!

    200610150011kd3.jpg

Really like the one on the right, extremely simple but very effective

    200610150010ok1.jpg

Like the one on the left but in hindsight, it would have looked much better on a dark card. The one on the right I really like as well, but it was a little fiddly to do.

    200610150009ol4.jpg

I wasn't keen on either of these, the one on the left was made using a kit from the QVC (or such shopping channel) card hour - iirc it cost nearly £20 and imo was a waste of money :(

    200610150008nh5.jpg

Again I quite liked the one on the left but a bit fiddly with cutting the slits. The card on the right was last years Christmas card - only I removed the star from the top of the tree to make it very simple and easy to batch produce.

    200610150007op3.jpg

Another two cards I quite liked but thought they were a bit too fiddly to batch produce.

The Stamps I used "Merry Christmas" and the "three snow flakes" were purchased from the Range

The reindeer and small Christmas tree were purchased from ebay and are die cut from mulberry paper

The snow flakes were hand make using a punch (probably from the Range)
Trying to make a better life.... If you need me you'll find me at the allotment.
