Minimacker I am soooo jealous of you! You are very talented!
I've only been in work for 3days and there is loads to catch up on!!
I LOVE coming on here I'm full of flu and feeling so sorry for myself seeing all your lovely cards has cheered me up!
Thank you. I just found an image on the net that I liked, printed out the main background then printed out extra bits of them and then sort of decoupaged them.0 -
There are some amazing cards on here today, so beautiful. It shows what can be achieved but I think I'm a long long way off that yet.
I did want to share with you all , I made 2 cards today, very simple in comparison with the lovely ones on here, one was just a printed pic and the other was a six part decoupage (I've never done that before) but I really enjoyed making them, I wasn't all stressed like the last time and infact it was quite therapeutic which I was surprised about to be honest. Anyway wanted to let you know I've had a lovely afternoon card making (never thought I'd ever use those words in the same sentence before.:rotfl:0 -
Soblivion - glad you had a great weekend, don't put yourself down, I know you are a great crafter, I always remember that ball on a plynth that you made with glass pebbles - it was fantastic.
Rainmac - glad you had a fab day! I sort of completed one card. It was for my OH's grandparents -it was their anniversary. I wanted to make a really classy, sophisticated card, but I just couldn't get it right.0 -

Yes so do I melissa75 vivedly, I made 2 in the end, one for each side of the gazebo but I even went to bed having nightmares about glass pebbles:rotfl: Crikey I'm surprised you remember that, it seems like for ever and a day away now.
Thank you for that, I think my husband will love the cards and it saved having to tour the shops looking for a picture on a card he might like.0 -

Hello All - Fabulous cards! You've all been very busy - I especially like your Valentine Rustyflange.
This is the best challenge card I've been able to do...... I had a completely different plan last Tuesday which went wrong & I don't think this is much better but as the saying goes..... it's the taking part that counts........ (they lie!)Put the black and silver cards I made in their envelopes and realised I'm gonna have to pay extra postage as the brads are too thick to fit through the standard size frame..shame, not as money saving as I'd hoped, still nice to get a homemade card I guess!
The card I made for the 1st challenge had buttons & brads on & I took to the post room @ work to see if it would go thro' the tester slot. My colleague said "I know how to do that" grabbed the card took her stapler & before I could say STOP she bashed it with the stapler!! I didn't dare try to open it to look how much worse it looked just stuck it in the post & hoped for the best!0 -
I had a lovely time at the craft warehouse today.
They had a QVC TSV Xmas card making set for £16.99 which I picked up and put down so many times but resisted the urge to buy the 'bargain' as figured it would be better to use up what I have already before buying more - wasn't I good:rotfl:
Well done Rainmac very impressed with your self control, I would like to award you this :A for being so good!!
I'm off to the states in a few days and I will be getting the naughty award (Where is the devil smilie??!!) I'm sure as I won't be able to resist a drafty bargain over there!!!;)0 -
Minimacka - I attempted to make a start on a book card last night for my neice. I bodged up a bit - I cellotaped the triangles down completely, so now I haven't got any flaps! Apart from that its going okay and I've just got to decorate it now. I just wondered whether you decorated the bottom of yours?
Furrypig - I'm so jealous, I hope you're taking lots of spending money!
Marg - great card, I can't believe your friend bashed your card with a stapler!
Rustyflange - well done on having a sort out, I sorted through my papers the other day, but I still need to organise everything else.
Soblivion - it stuck in my mind as it was so beautiful.0 -
I am proud to say that I decided to make my own card toppers, I looked for inspiration in magazines. These are what I have come up with so far, they have to be finished yet, need to add embelishments to them. They are scanned onto the PC as at the moment it is not letting me upload pics. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0
