Alot has happend since you last logged in... nothing that hasn't been sorted or dealt with though! And as for getting angry about things that [STRIKE]would [/STRIKE] should be easier to just let go over my head, that's what I'm now going to have to start working on... especially when it comes to my stepsons mother! Trying to deal with that can of worms isn't going to be easy now that we'll be moving within walking distance away!
With the move, I will be able to clear some of my debts quicker than the companies expected and then I'll throw a HUGE debt busting party in this thread! It's only babysteps but I'm getting there no matter what!
My car goes in for it's MOT tomorrow and to tell you the truth... I'm nervous!
I've not been driving her recently because she's been untaxed and her MOT had run out and she's a little bit dirty!
At least when she's home tomorrow I can give her a bath and a vacum and she can be all pretty again ready for when I get her tax disc on Saturday! A shiny new tax disk in the window is going to be a real treat for me to see!
And I can finally park up the gas guzzler that belongs to my partner and wave goodbye to the £25.00 a week petrol worries! I'll miss the radio though, my little car doesn't have very good signal so I tend not to use the radio very often! Back to the Ipod and podcasts methinks...
We've had some good response on people coming to view the property we are leaving... it's only been on Rightmove since Monday but we've had 2 viewings an evening since then! One lady has come back twice and now today she called to ask if she could come again tonight - ermmm I had to say no as I'm afraid I need just a little time to myself to pack! The problem with the viewings is that I can't pack, wash laundry and hang it up to dry or even start cooking until the last person leaves of an evening so I'm now behind on packing, have a very full washing basket and am not eating properly! She's coming on Saturday during the day - that suites me better!
At work I'm being so super efficient my boss thinks I've had a brain transplant! Toward the end of last year, with all I was dealing with, my work became poor and I was terribly forgetful but with this new feeling of being in control - it's showing not only at home but apparently at work now as well! My boss is super impressed with me! :T And I have to admit, I think I 'm super impressed with myself too!
Right enough blabbing from me, time to get myself back to the grindstone...!0 -
:mad:My car goes in for it's MOT tomorrow and to tell you the truth... I'm nervous!
I've not been driving her recently because she's been untaxed and her MOT had run out and she's a little bit dirty!
And I'm sad to say, she failed her MOT!
The garage has given me a discount on the repairs because he does all the MOT's and services for my brother-in-laws car lot so at least it'll only cost me £50.00 including labour to fix her as opposed to what he would have charged (£110.00 excluding labour). She has an electrical problem to her headlights (and I had noticed she was burning lights like it was going out of fashion) and she has to have the CV gaitor (I think
) replaced!
I got shortpaid by £40.00 this week so I'm really mad ! I almost wasn't able to pay this weeks' rent... and my water rates bounced! So I've been charged by the bank for a returned DD (£8) and by the water co. for the late payment (£4)..... now my problem is I don't have travel money for the week so will have to borrow off my partner until I get paid again on Friday! Come one LttF get with it!!!! I know I'm getting my full wage next week so I'm going to sit down tomorrow when my stepsons have gone home and do a weekly budget of what needs to be paid on bills/groceries out next week and the rest, I'm going to put into a new savings account I'm opening next saturday...
Oh, went to the bank this morning to pay the rent and asked why I wasn't able to have internet banking on my cash account and she said they've just started offering it to new customers but couldn't see why I couldn't have it as an old customer! Soooooooo I registered for internet banking then and there and hope to have it all through in the post this week! I'm also going to open up a new cash card account and use that for any spare cash I may have. The good thing with a cash card is that it doesn't have a chip so I can't use it without going to an ATM and drawing cash - I therefore don't spend on a whim becuase I actually have to find a machine....
The couple that have been back 3 times have finally put down a holding deposit and their credit checks are being down with the Agency... I told you this house would go fast! I'm going to be doing some more packing today and hope to have all things that aren't essentials and the smaller bits out the house by tomorrow! I realised that yesterday was our 1 year anniversary of moving into this house!
I'm going to miss my dream house...!
Right time for me to pop off and do some packing! How I managed to do this last time in 3 days I'll never know! I must have been crazy (or packing 24/7). :rotfl:0 -
:j Yay Yay Yay :j My little car is finally road legal again!
She's so little compared to the gas guzzler I have been driving and I'd forgotten just how light she is - Almost "visited" my neighbours this morning while driving out the parking! :rotfl:
An update to follow later today when I go to lunch!0 -

 YES!!!!!!! I'm working so hard to bring down the debt and it's finally working! OK so this is just "projecting" my budget for February but it is looking so good I'm estatic!
I think I'll try clear the BT and Store card in full during February and March - I've now started putting a few £££'s in my MJSS (Money Jar Savings Scheme) each week when I clear down my wallet of pennies and receipts!
It looks like the move to the new house will go ahead this weekend and I'm no where near ready in either houses yet! At the new house, the only room which is ready to go is my stepson's room as that has now been cleared and just has a few bits to go over that he plays with every day. Our temp master bedroom (which is the spare bedroom normally) has all sorts of bit and bobs that need either chucking or charity shopping! And MIL's bedroom is still exactly how she left it (I eventually made her bed on the weekend which was very upsetting) - my SIL will be spending a few nights there when we move in and have started to settle in to have a proper look through all of Mum's things and start going through them for mementoes and keepsakes.
Work is just hectic but my enthusiasm for it has returned so I'm really enjoying everything about work at the moment!0 -
Hey - your budget looks great!! It's so nice to work out the SOA and have a nice surplus at the end to put towards the debt!
I think I will do a new SOA at the end of this month... and redo my snowball... it'll be the first one without all the nasty arrears on it so I'll properly be able to see where my money is going!
I'm guessing it's going to be quite an emotional weekend if the move is taking place... but exciting as well I hope!
I can't wait to get out of work today... It's a friends birthday tonight so I'm off out.. then it's working tmw night, but what with working and some quidco money I'm definitely going to be sticking within my overdraft this month, so that's the last of the arrears over and done with!! Now to start attacking the CC's!!!
Have a good weekend

TurnaroundSue wrote: »Hi and welcome to the boards! You will find that we are a friendly bunch here and also very wise (not me personally; that being wise I mean, not not friendly!!!:D ). I am not very good with SOAs, but I do notice that under the monthly amounts of your council tax you have put £1458.80  - is this correct? I think if you amend this to what you think you will be paying when an agreement has been made under the plan, then the situation won't look as bad. Also I notice that you haven't put anything income in for your OH. If you are looking for him to make a contribution (and I definitely think he should) then add that figure in also as it will be a more realistic figure at the end - does he really not pay anything towards his living as looking at your SOA you pay for EVERYTHING
.
Also please get your car taxed ASAP, as without it they (the government) can come along and take it from you and crush it.
Good luck and I will be following your diary. I think that maybe the UK might be shifting towards the SA way and making it harder to get credit pretty soon what with the credit crunch and recession that's on its way!!!
providing a car is off road and stays off road and SORNed then it cannot be crushed0 -

This is true! Except it wasn't sorn until it had been off road for about a month... and only AFTER I'd received a fine for having it untaxed! I want to make very clear that while it was untaxed it was not being driven! :rotfl: I didn't even know what Sorn meant at the time!
But she's now newly taxed and mot'd so I've not got to worry I've not done something I should have! I even drove past the ANPR camera and the interceptors with a great big one of these...
.... plastered on my face on Saturday! I even wanted to  but I thought they might pull me over for taking the p%ss! :rotfl: 0 -
Very quick update because I'm just slammed at work this morning...
Well the move has finally taken place and we are 95% from having finished! There are still a few things we have to collect from the old house but I doubt it will be more than a boot load!
The new place seriously feels and looks like a tip right now... I can't wait to have some freeish time to be able to sort out the whole house. There is things EVERYWHERE and I can't find place for the majority of our kitchen appliances and crockery! Looks like they are going to have to be boxed up and put into the shed until I can clear out what we won't use of mums! I had to make the place feel like my "own" so I moved the kitchen around slightly... you know what I mean, moved the micro to a different counter top, changed the glasses from one cupboard to another etc and it's starting to feel more spacious! I was really worried about the amount of counter space we now don't have in the new house but a quick move about has made all the difference! The bedrooms are pretty much sorted... they needed to be, we sleep in them... it's just a few finishing touches which are necessary to restore calm in these rooms!
The cat has settled in wonderfully... he's not bothered like he was the last move! He's found his food, a place to sleep and his litter tray and he's happy!
On a MSE note, I don't think I'd need to go grocery shopping for months! I had a peek into the large free standing freezer last night so that I could do my grocery list and wow it is cockablock full of bread, milk, veg, pre-cooked meals and other bits and bobs... then I looked in the freezer beneath the fridge and that too is full to the brim with meat, chicken, roasting joints and fish! Food shopping is a thing of memory for a little while! As for the cleaning products... yikes... I now have 2 full cupboards of new or nearly new cleaning products, dishwashing liquids, washing powders and disposable gloves! Oh and in the airing cupboard there are approximately 30 rolls of kitchen towel (yes 30  ) and more tea candles that I can count! And don't even ask about the store cupboard... i've never seen so many tins before! - I generally steer clear of anything in a tin so this was very new to me
- finding a home for them was a mission as well! I'd love to know why there is so much of everything because my MIL used to moan that her mom was a hoarder... and she hated it... soooo I'm thinking she didn't realise she too was a hoarder, or a bargin bunny!

Wow!! How nice to have a house full of food!! Glad that it's starting to feel a bit like your own... hope you manage to get de-boxed soon!
Since my sister moved out I've been meaning to sort out the two bedrooms for ages it's been about 6 months and all I've managed to do is to move things between the two rooms and back again.. though I did manage a carboot at one point as well!! Think it's going to be another few months before I finally get to the end of the sorting!! I have about 10 bin bags full of clothes with nowhere for them to go so I think I'm going to attack them one at a time!!
My excuse is always I work 7 days a week... but lately the shifts are drying up... I need a new excuse!!!!
