• My achievement for the day: I paid £225.00 toward my council tax arrears!:T

My mission for the day was to stock up my freezer as we were down to 2 yorkshire puddings and 1 bag of frozen veg! :o hmmmm don't think I can even attempt to make anything from that which is decent enough to pass as as dinner! :p So I headed to the high street armed with a list of what I needed and £50.00! And this is what I spent my £50.00 on...

IcelandFood£13.61, ButcheryFood£20.00, LitterPippin£4.99, CigarettesCigarettes£4.50, HarryPocket Money£5.00, Market - VegFood£1.80 total today:£49.90

I'm also pleased that I managed to pay £70.00 toward my OH's credit card (he gave me it to pay into his account during the week but I was so broke I asked him if I could use it instead!)

Right now onto cleaning this flithy house! How on earth does this house get so dirty during the week when we both work very long hours and we've been at the hospital every night this week? I'm telling ya, there is dirty little fairies coming in when we are out and having a little fairy party! :D
• Glad to hear your MIL is feeling better - hope she gets out of hospital soon!

Bet you're feeling good to put all that money onto debts now - I can't wait to get my bills through and update my signature and re-do my snowball! Right I'm just going to have another peek on the forum then I'll get on with my tidying... honest!!

• Today I've spent doing letters to my creditors with monthly offers toward what I owe... ok so some of the amounts are really tiny in comparison to what I actually owe but they are all I can afford!

I've done a new SoA today as well, it's looking alot better than it has been in the past. I've added in my partners contribution toward rent/household bills so it helps a tiny bit!

So here it is...

• just found your diary and read it, sorry to hear your MIL has been having problems, but am glad to see you are ending up with a surplus each month.

you need to speak to your partner and see if he can contribute any more towards the house. i dont understand how he can pay so little, it seems like he is paying token rent and you pay everything else including food which you both use.

also if you can cut down sky it will make a difference, and you can also get internet with sky for a fiver a month which seems to be one of the cheapest packages.

good luck

• DFin4y: Thanks so much for having a look at my new SoA.

My partner just cannot afford to put more toward the house - it is a bit of a bug bere with me because he's paying less now than he was paying when we lived in our 1 bedroom flat a year ago! He has 2 children from previous relationships that he supports so most of his money goes directly into them! I have no problems with this at all, after all they are his children, but sometimes I find myself getting really upset that I/we have to suffer because of his past! :o errrmmm did that sound terrible? I wouldn't change having either one of those sweet boys in my life but it takes alot of patience and tounge biting sometimes! :rotfl:

We are looking at dropping the Sky monthly payment but just trying to work out what we watch and what we don't! Mostly it's sport but that is the most expensive package there is!
• We were in a bit of a quandry last night :o - I realised that I didn't have enough money a) to put petrol in my car (have been driving on fumes for days!) b) top up my oyster card and c) for parking money at the station! I needed at the very least £15.00 (a 5ver on each) so OH suggested we take our penny jar down to the Coinstar  at the 24hour Tesco as he too was pennyless and needed fuel for the car! So off we go (I guiltily agreed as he's been putting in his pennies every Friday night ever since we got together 4 years ago) armed with a M&S bag of 1p and 2p coins (gosh they weigh a ton!). Oh I felt terrible tipping all those coins into the machine but we walked out with £42 in cash = £21 each. :T

The worst of it was that they were given to us in £2.00 coins so as a member of the £2.00 savers club I didn't know what to do - in my hand I held 20 £2.00 coins and I'd easily be able to spend them but there was this little nagging voice at the back of my mind saying "you know you do need to save a £2.00 coin this week, put a few aside, go on you know you wanna" So I popped a £2.00 coin back into our Penny Jar along with the rejected coins(how dare they, that's very good money! ) and I feel alot better for doing so!
• I'm liking the idea of these penny jars they can all add up!! I think I'm going to have a cheeky jar at the top of my stairs (I live in a top floor maisonette) and will ask people to get rid of their pennies everytime they walk up for the "get liz debt free" fund :)

Well done on putting that £2 back.. I was going to put £25 in my bank today and leave myself £4 and some change for the week.. but then I thought if I put another £1 and my pennies I can use it for my payment a day instead of wasting it as it's in my purse!! It's the little things like that that add up and make the difference I think!!

• Hey! Remember you saying it's your birthday today so have a fab day with your Mom :bdaycake:

Thanks honey! I had a really fabby day with my mom! Went for a back massage and then lunch at Pizza Express (and used my 241 voucher off here:T ). It was altogether not a bad day - and I don't feel oooollllldddd yet! Hahaha!

I've been paid this morning for last week so I'm super glad I have some money again! I'll do my budget at some point when my boss isn't looking! My Stepson isn't well so there goes my plans on going out for the day on Saturday but I still have to go to the market to get some bits for the fridge. Depending on how he feels, we'll see what we can do on Saturday!

MIL is doing much better and will be moving from ICU to HDU today. They are hoping to take her off the breathing machine (which isn't really doing much anymore as all her breaths she is doing by herself) but her tracheotomy will have to stay for a few more days - god it's so frustrating trying to understand what she is trying to say because no noise comes out of her mouth! They will be plugging it in a few days so that she can speak again and although I'm looking forward to hearing her voice, I know she's going to speak and speak and speak and speak  and then tell us off for frustrating her because we couldn't understand her ! :D But she's moving in the right direction now and for that I am truly grateful!

Hopefully I'll see my Dad this weekend and we can go and buy my coat he's promised to get for me! I've been loooking everywhere and I just can find one that I really like - My coat at the mo is houndstooth design and I hate it! I want a plain black button up knee length coat (with or without a belt) but do you think I can find one like that.... Nope!

Right, I'm off do do some work, will post my weeks budget when I get in from work - and if my stupid computer at home doesn't annoy me to the point that I want to murder it! It's sooooo slow and soooooo annoying at the moment!
• Right so I've had a good day... I finally found a coat I liked! It was in Next for £60.00:eek: but my little MSE stepson suggested we go next door to Choice and see if there was a similar one in there that would be cheaper (god I've taught him well!). So off we go and lo and behold, there is the exact same coat for half the price.....:T So I bought it! The reason it's a second is because of the tiny lipstick mark on the collar but even I had to put my glasses on to see it! :rotfl: I also had £30.00 in Next vouchers from my Aunt so we went back in there and I got myself a nice warm scarf and gloves for £9.00! :D

Then we went off into the High Street to spend my Stepson's toothfairy money (obviously his tooth fairy at home is skint because he only got £2.00 -when he lost his first tooth here, our tooth fairy dropped her money bag as she was going out the window and left behind a £1 ontop of the £2.00 she'd already left and my gosh she was messy... she must have got stuck because she also left loads and loads of fairy dust on the window jam and sill ;) )

I still haven't posted my weekly budget but it's looking slightly thin at the mo because my eldest stepson's mother (yes 2 SS's and 2 mothers!) has thrown a hissy fit because we've not paid her in 6 weeks....errrmmmm best she check her bank account because I deposit £80.00 fortnightly into her account and its not somehing I forget to do... the children and mothers depend on our £40.00 a week!
