NCP/ASDA £100 fine for outside line

Until they swing their door out into your car and put a big gash in it.
I don't have a car that I'm that proud of! It's already covered in dings from the children swinging open hubby's car door on the drive.
Anyway, if they park too far over the white line, they can't even get near the door to swing it.0 -
I recently recieved a £100 fine for parking with my wheels slightly over the parking bay. The car park was half empty, but I pulled into a bay next to a wall which had an abandoned shopping basket there and a 4 x 4 had also encroached onto the next but one bay . So, as there were no regulations dispalyed where I paid for my ticket I did not know that I was commiting such a crime. Surely a friendly warning would have been more appropriate. Has anybody else received such an ridiculous fine?
Then why pull into that space? you have a "half empty" car park to use!!
As said by others, don't pay it, but it beggars belief that you parked where you did, with a "half empty" car park to choose from!!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
you can get out of it by just ignoring it, but how about parking properly and looking for others to blame?0

That's the reason I don't park next to cars covered in dings. If I have to park next to a car I try and park next to a nice, shiny, expensive one (I normally park away from the shop as there are usually plenty of empty spaces and I don't have to park next to anyone). They're far more likely to be careful when opening their doors.0 -

unless they are sales rep type people then they dont care as its not their car
i usally park away from everyone, you still get in the shop just as quick as you dont have to sqeeze into space slowly and wait for people etc0 -

You can usually tell when a car's a repmobile though.
Even if you do park next to a nice one, chances are they'll have left before you get out and there could be someone careless in the space. Much safer parking at the far end in the first place.0 -

if everyone took two spaces people would be even worse
my mate has a really old metro as his run around, if he sees someone taking two spaces up or over the line, if he can fit he will sqeeze in to be about 2 inches away:rotfl:0 -
If everyone took two spaces, perhaps the supermarkets would get the message and make the bays bigger for everyone.
OP, if you haven't got the message yet, don't tell them who was drving, and ignore everything they send to Registered Keeper. Unless it is registered to a company, then you might find that the company pays all fines and deducts it from your wages. Which IMO is unlawful but you'll have to take that up with your employer.0 -
Even worse if its a hire car as they will pay willy-nilly and add £30.00 for the privilege, in this case you should get onto the hire co to refer them directly to you without paying.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
