Just had a quick look and it was this number 01273 411112, i could not get through on the 0870 7666212, don't know if it is still working but it is the one i used as someone advised to look at the alternative number to the 0870 as they should answer on the normal number 01273.

Even though the amounts may be relatively small, I would encourage customers who have not received orders or refunds to contact Trading Standards through Consumer Direct:

    http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

It is only when a large number of complaints have been received that any more serious action will be taken. I also see that Angel Yarns is not to be found on the Companies House web site, so it must be a trading name. The website is also hosted from Hong Kong according to whois.
  • I wish I'd read this before ordering, more fool me I guess. I have just raised a dispute with Paypal so maybe they will be able to get me my money back. Items ordered on 4th Jan no delivery or contact thus far despite numerous e-mails. AVOID THIS "COMPANY" LIKE THE PLAGUE!

  • Oh my god!
so...I feel really stupid after reading all these posts...I also bought some wool from this online store. I'm from Spain and it's even more complicated for me to enquiry my order...so do you thing I'll receive my order someday? how can I get my money back!
I'd be very thankfull is anybody can help me.
  • I cannot believe that I, like so many others, never realised what an awful company this was until it was too late!!
I found the website following a search for Ovarian Cancer Pin Badges - I found a link for their site which stated that they would cover the cost of the pin badge transactions so that the charity would get the full donation.
I ordered three of the badges at a cost of £1 each and that was back in October 2009 - suprise suprise, I STILL havent received them! And I am doubting VERY much that they have passed any money to the charity - worse than ripping off all their previous customers if you ask me!
I know £3 is a small amount compared to what I've read on this thread, but the charity issue far outweighs my small monetary loss.

Livid does not even come close to how I'm feeling!:mad::mad::mad:

I have tried contacting them via email, to no avail.
I also tried the 2 phone numbers listed further back on this thread - the 0870 number is no longer valid, and the 01273 number offers no response, just continues to ring.

Do I have a case to take to TS??

    Does anyone have any advice???

    Thanks guys!

I think it is worth getting in touch with Trading Standards - not so much in terms of getting a refund, but just to log your complaint against this company. TS need to know that they are conning people in order to build a case.

It may also be worth contacting the charity and letting them know what has gone on - they may choose not to supply them next time.

How did you pay? You can always complain to your credit card company.

If you google you will see lots of complaints about unreceived goods and unanswered emails, calls etc. on knitting forums.

Pretty despicable though, taking money for charity badges and not sending them out.
  • Thanks - unfortunately I paid via debit card not credit card, although for such a small amount I'm not sure a credit card company would bother with it!

I will be contacting TS I think, and I have already contacted the charity to warn them.
  • My first post here! I was just looking online for good value knitting yarns. I have bought from Angel Yarns previously and had a horrendous experience, but almost gave them another shot - so pleased I found this thread first!

It was almost two years ago now I ordered over £20 of yarn and when I received it the colour was totally different to what I was expecting. I wasn't sure if it was me who ordered the wrong thing or the colour was incorrect on the website but either was I wanted a refund. I sent it back, recorded delivery, and they claimed it had never been receieved.

I called and called and called and called, emailed and emailed, write three recorded delivery letters with copies of the signatures yet still they didn't bother coming back to me and kept blaming different departments.

In the end I contacted my Bank and they helpfully claimed back the money! I can see this is not a one-off thing! I for one will never shop with them again!

I think it would be worth approaching your Bank - mine helped with me! :D
