Fridy 14/11/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
check online banking - payday:j :j
move some money about - to savings:j
update spreadsheets
storecupboard lunch
make a loaf in breadmaker
go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
Go to costco for oldies at work- check out any good deals whilst there
Put some petrol in at cheap garage on way:D
cook tea for oldies at work and eat for free:D
Be sparkly

Good morning everyone, woo Hoo its Friday and payday:j :j , hope you all have a great day, (((hugs))) not dodgy ones! to all those in need of cheering up. Need to have a declutter of my office today:o and sort out the mountain of xmas paraphenalia that seems to be accumulating:rolleyes:

Catch up with you all later lovely people.
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

  • Morning everyone, and happy Friday! Not quite pay day for us yet, but it's a day closer!

    Today I will/have:

    • Checked online banking / Quidco / CC statement / ebay / Amazon
    • Keep an eye out for surveys
    • Use free gym membership tonight
    • Charging phone at work
    • Brought breakfast and lunch to work and got food out for store cupboard dinner
    • Write a little list for shopping tomorrow using our Nectar points as payment
    • Enter a few more comps online
    • Try to drive a bit more efficently - our MPG indicator says we're averaging less than last week!?!

    Think that'll do for now. Have a great day everyone xx
  • Good morning all!! :j

    Its friday and I'm feeling sparkly today! Not a NSD as have to go and buy cakes for work as its my birthday tomorrow :D Wouldn't mind but theres a few of us in the office and 20 drivers!!:eek: And the drivers eat like horses! Cheap doughnuts all round I think ;)

    Using lots of dotty people today so they feel loved and wanted ;) :heartpuls

    Had a call late last night from a worried Mum as Dad was still bleeding quite a lot from where tooth came out. Sent Hubby on the 10 mile trip to collect Dad to take to hospital but guess what....as he arrived at my Mums the bleeding stopped. Oops! :wink: Will call them shortly to see how he is.

    Anyway, heres my list for today:

    * Didn't get airer yesterday so am off to get it this morning
    * Washing at 30'c
    * Charging mobile at work later
    * Post ebay parcel

    ummm, thats about it. Bit of a shamefully short list today. :embarasse

    Miss P
    xx

  • Morning all,
    As a DFW newbie I’ll be doing loads of big things this evening… but in the meantime I’ll be…
    * buying some veggie seeds/bulbs to start my plot this weekend
    * Sorting out my budget planner
    * I won’t be “treating myself” with a bacon butty from the shop near my work
    * I won’t be going out for lunch
    From what I’ve seen on here so far, all these tiny steps accumulate and make a big difference. Seeing folk on here that are now debt free gives me hope and I’m now glad to be part of it.

    Have a fun Friday folks!

  • HIya all - wet grey and wet and grey here - lots on, I really really need focus on this writing stuff. argh - runs screaming. Happy Birthday for tomorrow Miss p!!

    Today:
    Did brekkie for Lodger
    Find out to bill for the week today - he seems happy so is back on Sunday night - woo hoo - £25 a day have exchanged a lodger for my coo's (there's got to be some humour in there somewhere?)
    Put washing on drier cupboard thingmy seems to work quite well
    Tidied up bathroom and kitchen (not dfw unless you count the lodger income)
    Chase up cow payment - need bill for another 5 hours so that might remind them.
    Taken DS down to bus - in exchange for half hour leaf sweeping up from garden (seems fair?)
    DD dressed for children in need as a skiier - pigtails, goggles and all very funny - sent her off with her dishwasher emptying pocket money. Bless I am a tyrant
    Go to work for a bit an figure out what I need to sort for my major meeting in Dec - argh
    Book train and plane for York trip - any tips on saving rail stuff - will look on MSE pages (Plane to ed, train from ed - york)
    Got vouchers for clubcards only a 5iver but 'every little helps'. Keep getting 5p off petrol vouchers - grrrrrr - can't use them. Must send them to someone south
    Phone back some folk about the cleaning - thinking £20quid for 3 hours ok? or is that a bit stingy? Better 2hrs for £15?
    Do a list for teas and check what I need for brekkies next week - thinking cap on.

    Think thats it for the moment - will no doubt remember things later!
    Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:
    Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

    £2 savers club 2025 #4
  • Not much for me (why am I saying that every day at the moment?!)

    Will do some comps later;
    Going to my Mum's tonight rather than tomorrow which means free-meal and a chance to avoid the borefest that it Children in Need on the TV (I'm sure it's a good cause but it bores me rigid);
    Will check Piggy for points;
    Sent off my letter to Egg to tell them I'm taking them to court unless I get my charges back (and I'm sooooooooooo serious about it) - meant to do it yesterday but never got round to it;
    Sending off 9 ebay parcels which earnt me £55!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
