    I think alanrowell is right. You need an svideo lead to connect your dvd player to the Y/C (svideo) input of your tv. The scarts may not support svideo unless you can turn it on via the tv's menu.

  • thanks for all your suggestions. I have abandoned the scart/s video lead and purchases an rgb. It works !

    nice one, enjoy your tv. ( you did get gold plated scart leads didnt you?)

    dont worry if you didnt, it would just be a shame to have such a great tv not recieving the sharpest pictures, as your screen is so large.
