hmm, I don't know........ would a person who is genuinely after an XBox put two bids on XBoxes within five minutes?
I might fret too much, but I think something smells.........
EDITED:
actually, danmac262728 didn't bid within 5 minutes, apologies. Looks he put a bid in on a second box @15:04 after he lost the first one @ 15:00, and he could just be a genuinely desperate buyer. But then, he lost that 2nd box @ 15:11, and hasn't bid for another one.....so may be he isn't so desperate, after all?
Whatever, I'd check him out further before shipping anything0 -
I gave him a 2nd chance 2hrs after the auction ended, but he paid today. He has replied to all my emails, when I asked him to confirm his address, whether he was happy to wait until Wednesday etc.
His emails have been courteous, and he has said thanks, happy xmas, mate etc.
My instinct is to think that he is genuine.
It is a pickle because I HAVE taken the money. However, if he is genuine then I guess he is equally worried, since he has sent off £440 and is hoping that I send.
Newbies...
Jaffa, how can I check his bidding history please? I was trying to find this tool yesterday
I did send a few emails, asking him his address, whether he would be happy to wait until Wednesday as the Post Office is closed tomorrow.Be nice0 -

I wouldn't say that. The majority of scammers may use PayPal, but so do the vast majority of genuine buyers...bleugh wrote:looking at this, you'd be a blithering idiot to go through with this!0 -
His email is his ebay name@aol
At least that says that we know who he is? Unless it was hacked or something. But then I would go for a BIN if it was me looking for a scam?Be nice0 -

I have to agree with you on that one gizmo.
Most buyers and sellers have paypal as a purchashing / selling option.

From looking, he bid on 2xboxes, the 2nd after mine ended. I would assume that this is not uncommon, since 1 new Xbox is the same as the next. He didnt win either, and then gave up?
Possibly thought he would have another look today, but then saw that I had offered it to him?
Eek, Im looking for reassurance, but can see why you all talk cautious, as that is how I would reply too if it was me

Jaffa, he only has the address as far as I can tell

Otherwise phoning would a great idea.
I thought you had to give a number to use paypal :SBe nice0
