I know Debenhams will only give you an exchange or store credit if an item is 50% off, but what about these things that are 25% off? There are a couple of blouses I like, but I won't know if I want to keep them until I try them on. And I really don't want store credit if I have to return them as I almost never shop at Debenhams (I bought one thing for 7.50 a couple of months ago, returned it and was told I could only have credit because it was half off, and I still haven't found a use for the 7.50 gift card, lol).
I can answer that and i'm NOT happy> I bought 3 blouses yesterday and 2 jumpers - the blouses were on a one day special offer price of £5 (previous rrp £15) and the jumpers were 25% off - they were too big so took them back today and got smaller sizes where i could but refunds for the others - couldn't have refund back on my card which i paid with had to have giftcard - i hardly ever shop in Debenhams so why couldn't i have the refund on my card that i paid with - everyone's getting conned cos if you have to return something you'll get a giftcard meaning you still have to spend the money in their shop!A home is not a home ..... without a dog

Wow, what a rip off! It says *nothing* about that in the return policy! Is that legal? Thank god my order got cancelled shortly after I placed it. They gave no explanation as to why, but I assume they ran out of stock -- though everything showed in stock when I placed the order (except for the one item it told me to remove if I wanted to place the order). Joke's on them I guess, as now I'm quite glad they cancelled! I really don't like that if you change your mind about something all you can get is store credit for a store that you never normally shop at.0 -
just got back from a late night shop and I noticed they were putting up signs saying that it had been extended till Sunday - due to demandi'm living in a parallel universe0

Thanks to all you posters, I've got some great bargains, with free delivery and an extra 5% discount. Fingers crossed that Debs don't cancel the order!0

just to clear up the refund policy for you because i work there.
the company does not give a refund on anything that is 50% off or higher they will only exchange or put it on a gift card.the only exceptions to this is if you pay on a debs card you can have a refund and if the item is faulty you can have a refund in line with law.
regards people saying is this legal then yes it is, nobody is entitled to a refund on anything unless it is faulty it is only the goodwill of stores who offer a policy that allows you to have a so called cooling off period when taking something back.
the refund policy should be displayed at every till point or on the reverse of your recipt.lf it isnt then i would argue the case with the store manager and see how far you get.
hope that helps.0 -
My order arrived yesterday (thrown over garden gate by delivery man) and they'd sent the wrong colour. Now I have to go to the store anyway to change it. Also everything was in seperate padded envelopes so with a loadof Christmas decorations and some cards I have been left with 10 huge non recyclable envelopes ands tons of plastic. :mad:0

Now, i'd have been really pleased with all the envelopes and used them for my ebay sales! Hang on to them - you can re-use them for something!0 -
