lol, im loving the smart answers, i thought this was a friendly forum.

It's not news though it's history now, as it was introduced over two and a half years ago on certain tariffs and not all Orange customers pay for delivery reports!

    WHAAAAAAAAT!

I've only just started getting itemised bills (because they started charging for paper bills) and just noticed they're charging me for the f*****g delivery reports!

Gah, wish I'd stayed with '3' - can't wait to get out of this flipping Orange contract.

Didn't you wonder why your bill was £20 over what it should be??

Bloody Nora... Two thousand texts per month? If we assume a 31-day month then that's 64 texts per day. Bearing in mind you generally sleep for about eight hours per day that leaves 16 hours for texting, so 64 divided by 16 works out at four texts per hour.

If you worked in my office I'd sincerely hope your phone would be on silent during business hours, and not even vibrating silent either - proper, quiet silent :)

I guess if you send a lot of group texts to multiple recipients then that might account for a large portion but then you'd be one of those people who forwards on every single joke about a celebrity who's just died to your entire phonebook, annoying all your friends ;)

Either that or you're a football coach organising a team that plays three times per week.

I'm just so angry - glad I haven't been using all my 500 "free" messages each month.

Orange like their sneaky little charges don't they - gah, they make me so angry.

Why is it sneaky? Its not their fault you didn't check costs!

A delivery report is totally unnecessary in my opinion, why does anyone need to know if a message has been delivered or not?

I've always had them turned on. I'm on Three and they don't charge for them.

I have family members who live in poor coverage areas and is handy to know if they have received their text when you are waiting hours later for a response.

I know not everyone will need delivery reports but there is no need for a patronising response. As you said that is your opinion, others are entitled to theirs!

As with all mobile contracts, the first rule is to call the network and check there are no charges for "extras". Orange have charged for delivery reports for years and it has been reported on here many times over that period. Even checking bills properly should highlight unexpected charges.

    Hi everybody,

I'm not sure if this a common thing but im proper shocked about this. (Sorry i write how i speak and im from Birmingham LOL)

Anyway i was looking at my Orange bill and they've charged me a 1p for each delivery report i've recieved. I can't believe it. This may sound petty, so let me do a little arithmatic. I have unlimited text messages and I text ALOT.

P.S. any body got any advice?

    Regards JP

Yep!! switch of the reports and never switch it back on again
