for those of you who suffer from diabetes
looks like you simply complete a little survey, they recommend one which is best suited for you, fill in your details and off you go

Hi - as I have stated on most previous posts for diabetic meters, they are always available. If you want to support diabetes then get Balance (Diabetic magazine) and each issue has a wealth of meters that are free. They also give more details about the machines themselves (ie, blood size sample...important if you have sensitive fingers) and if they can be used to get blood from the arms. Unfortunately when the 'free' meters are posted on here there is a sudden glut of them on eBay. For genuine diabetics they are always avilable, and hopefully this will stop the leachers from obtaining them to sell. If you don't want to subscribe to balance then it will be available at your diabetic clinic, or you can just telephone the manufactureurs and ask for one. As previously mentioned test strips are £26 for a box of 50 so they will soon make their costs back.0

I got one of these via the diabetes society, although I am not diabetic I do have non-diabetic hypoglycaemia so this is incredibly useful. I was very pleased that it came with 25 strips.0

I have ordered 2 one for my mum who has type 2 and one for my aunt who has type 1 neither has internet access so have ordered them and used 2 of my addies.
I agree only order if you need it or know someone who would benefit from it, I like the large screen as my aunt finds seeing digits on some of them difficult :rolleyes:Life is what you make it;)0 -
As anyone received there meter recently? Both my dad and myself ordered around the begining of Sept and was told we would receive it within 28 days, but still nothing.0

Received one last week but cannot remember when I've applied for it, probably about 2 months ago? Comes with 10 strips and 10 lancets as well.0
