Since 7th Octobe,r I've had this recurring dream:
I'm completely naked, on an ice rink, locked in stocks. Loretts Minghella, dressed as a domanatrix, is throwing cod heads and puffin pooh at me. The ghost of Magnus Magnuson is seated in a black chair next to her. He's got £25,000 in £50 notes and is slowly burning them one by one. I scream at them to stop. He just grins and says, "We've started so we'll finish"

Lol I am gonna miss you when all this is over and we have all been paid and crept back to whence we came!

I reckon you had better hang around for the next bank crash we are all embroiled in!

Am I going mad? I looked at the FSCS consumer home page an hour ago and it had been updated today. Now there is nothing from today and nothing about 50,000 or stepping up the process  .

Just in case anyone missed it here is what was posted on the FSCS website before being taken down. The new message is in the next post. Obviously don't want to mention the 50,000 second emails any more.

Must have been that same FSCS bloke posting who left that dossier on the train yesterday. :rotfl: :rotfl:

And seems to contradict what is in their 16/11/08 press statement at

    http://www.fscs.org.uk/industry/publications/press_releases/

By the end of Sunday (16 November 2008) 50,000 notification emails had been sent to UK Icesave customers. FSCS began making payments to UK customers of Icesave last week. By the end of Friday (14 November 2008) the FSCS had paid out around £0.25bn to UK Icesave customers and by the end of Sunday (16 November 2008) over 50,000 second emails had been sent.
The FSCS invited UK Icesave customers to reclaim their money last week using the accelerated online claims process. Using the existing Icesave website most people opted to claim their cash through a BACS transfer to their nominated accounts. The average time it is taking consumers to effect the BACS transfer is less than four minutes.
The FSCS is now planning to increase the number of people receiving a second notification inviting them to log on using their existing details and follow a short process to claim their compensation.
The notification emails are being phased for security and operational reasons. There is no set pattern in the ordering of emails at this time. Although customers can currently view their accounts the FSCS asks that people wait for their second email before attempting to log on to complete the process. Once you have received your second email you have a month to complete the online process, but it would be helpful if people could log on as soon as possible after receiving their notification email. FSCS thanks everyone for their patience.
FSCS Chief Executive Loretta Minghella says: "Five weeks ago a lot of Icesave savers were worried that they were going to be left high and dry. Now they can be confident that the electronic process is underway and people are getting their money back. FSCS is keen to make the process as smooth as possible for Icesave's customers."
MSE. Abandon hope all ye who enter here :D

And here is the new one:

FSCS pays out £0.5bn to Icesave customers (17 November)

UK customers of Icesave have started to get their money back after the FSCS began making payments to Icesave customers. By the end of today (17 November 2008) the FSCS had signed off over £0.5bn in BACs transfers to UK Icesave customers.

Perthaps we should have " I survived Icesave" T shirts printed with a pheonix like puffin flying from the flames. Have a campaign reunion every year and most importantly a motto. I suggest "Ego spem pretio non emo" which translates to " I don't buy a pig in a poke " :D
