Can anyone remember what time they went out last saturday?
Mine came at 09:25 last Saturday...ouch stop throwing things at me!
  • Have you noticed that we will soon be reaching 2000 posts? How many thousand more before we have all happily received that email?

Nilrem: naughty, naughty for leading us on like that! You really had me there for a moment!
  • As the number of us "non-receivers" grows (allegedly) smaller then the chances of any one of us getting our e-mails increase day to day, don't they. This being the case, other then because I'm a cynical pessimist by nature, why do I not feel remotely confident that today will be my day? Answers, please, on the back of a blank cheque to me c/o MSE.

The thing that bothers me is that my wife and I are both waiting for our emails and you might have thought that the chances of both of us still waiting would be slim, unless the random ? criteria that they use affects both of us as we use the same email address and other information. First KE/CHAPS then the icesave first email fiasco with talktalk and now this waiting - I'm going slowly mad - doesn't seem to bother my wife much though.

My wife and I are both still waiting although we have different e-mail addresses which if the process was totally random the chances of this would be, as you point out, slim. Likewise my wife is totally unconcerned about the whole thing although I'm tempted to put this down to the "where ignorance is bliss" factor.

  • Well, I must admit that before all this, I just deleted the SPAM folder without looking at the contents. I have seen plenty of stuff shoved in there by yahoo that I would have missed before...
All those times I argued with British Gas, British Telecom, HSBC, United utilities, NSI Premium Bonds, Nubile young (oh forget that one)..
"But we DID send you an email" !!
"No you didn't you lying useless bunch of !!!!!!"..

Anyone fancy a Rolex watch???

Thought I'd better check my spambox "just in case" and out of 21 emails only one "legitimate" one had slipped through and that was from Argos. I've given up hope of ever seeing that elusive FSCS email :(
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
  • It's great we can still smile.. but I can't help feeling that as time goes on, the odds do not improve but that the compensation fades like a rainbow, the pot of gold never being discovered.

I just do not believe anything the FSCS say. For all we know, they have sent only 10,000 emails over the last two weeks. Certainly that would explain the sort of reports we are getting.

PS - Sorry to disturb you good people, but the latest FSCS news which appeared for 10 seconds only before being withdrawn was to the effect that a certain small furry mammal had died due to the stress.
