thanks for all the pictures,,, cant wait to use mine now!.... i dont know if anyone has already thought of this but i got a 'BEST MUM'' ''TOP GRANDAD'' glass in card factory reduced to £1 each which im going to use as my 'pot' :D

similar to this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Best-Mum-Wine-Glass/dp/B00403DWGM im going to take it out of the box and wrap it in cello :)

i think this will add a touch of personalisation and the 'pot' is then reusable :D going to hunt for more glasses now and do it for all the family :)

  • Everyone in the family is getting these this year. We don't do presents for adults any more, just a token gift and then a donation to charity.

Paris goblets (value wine glasses) for adults including grown up nieces and nephews - probably with £1 scatchcards.
    Mugs for 3 teens - plus ?
    Bowls for 3 great nephews (4, 5 & 8), with sunflower seeds

Not sure what else to put in for 3 teens - although £1 coin will probably go down OK, although younger one will also have money as his gift and the other 2 are our own children.
  • May: Camping set for 4, 2 books.
  • Just wondered if anyone knew where the best place to get coins was? I need a couple of packs for my hampers.

Aldi have them at 79p per pack but there's only about 7 in there. Both white (silver wrapped) and milk chocolate.

Debenhams have a MASSIVE sack of them, must be about four times the normal amount, but it had no price on it in store? I'm not sure but I think it's these?

They also have some Cadburies coin nets that have gold and silver wrapped coins in but are all milk chocolate (I think).

How much and how big are nets in Asda and Tesco?

  • I have used and it worked really well, Mr T's small gold coffee jars, it has a gold screw top and I save them all year, then soak the glass jar to get the labels off, then filled with gold coins that I bought the year before in the sale from Mt T's and from Thornton's and a scratch card or two, then tied gold organza ribbon around the top and a buff luggage tag with a Four Leaf clover charm, from ebay 1.50 for 10 glued to it,. these went down really well as stocking fillers etc last year, the chocs were fine and a couple of the peopleIi have given them to still wear the lucky clover on a chain around their neck. xx

Lindt obviously do the golden wrapped Reindeers at this time of year (with the red bells) which are very nice but relatively expensive even in their small size.

Aldi are doing a direct copy for 99p but Lindt are also doing small GOLDEN TEDDIES at a much more reasonable 50p each.....and they are on offer at Tesco for

    FOUR FOR £1 :j

Now these will look great (and expensive) and nobody would think you only paid 25p for them.

As for CANDLES - Marks and Sparks did some gold tea light ones last year but boy oh boy were they messy !!! It was just gold glitter stuck on the wax and the stuff went everywhere. Defo avoid anything like that.

If you have a B&M near you, they sell them, I was in there yesterday and they are 59p each or 2 for £1, you get quite a few in those yellow nets.
  • I got some lindt teddies for 30p each in hobby craft, I wish I had known about Tesco, but they are still cheaper than in Asda
