Just wondered if anyone knew where the best place to get coins was? I need a couple of packs for my hampers.

Aldi have them at 79p per pack but there's only about 7 in there. Both white (silver wrapped) and milk chocolate.

Debenhams have a MASSIVE sack of them, must be about four times the normal amount, but it had no price on it in store? I'm not sure but I think it's these?

They also have some Cadburies coin nets that have gold and silver wrapped coins in but are all milk chocolate (I think).

How much and how big are nets in Asda and Tesco?

I think Asda is a pound a net - not sure on Tesco.

Wilkinsons is the best I've found (apparently Superdrug are the same price) they're £1 a net but also on BOGOF so really 50p each - and you get a good 10/12 coins and they're really tasty too [ :o ]

  • Tescos are 2 for £1 for all net chocolates - coins, puddings, santa heads.

    Quite nice chocolate too!!

    Hope that helps
  • From 17th november aldi are doing little boxes of haribo gold bears, four for 89p if anyone fancies a change from putting all chocolate in their pots.

I've only just discovered this thread, and I LOVE it!

I'm having my family to my house for Christmas Dinner for the first time, and was debating getting name cards but I'm going to make these instead (including one for myself of course!).

I shall be stopping at various supermarkets on my way home tonight to gather my booty (yes I'm that excited - its sad!), so if I see any good bargains I shall let you all know

    Thanks

I got some lindt teddies for 30p each in hobby craft, I wish I had known about Tesco, but they are still cheaper than in Asda

Sainsburys are doing 3 for a pound if it helps anyone (49p each otherwise) and 2 of the gold reindeer/larger teddies for a fiver (£2.99 each)

They also have this for £2

Asda seem to sell 9 gold tealights like someone asked about a few pages ago for £2 but it appears you also get 3 red ones?

They also have the reindeer and bears on the same offer (2 for £5) and gold star confetti (£1) and gold tissue paper (£1)

Tesco has gold tissue paper (£1 on 3 for 2) gold and silver stars (£1) Wispa Gold (50p) and 6 gold star bowls (£2 - no idea what they look like - been nosing around on the websites to see if there were any good deals :rotfl: )

For some reason the gold star bowls in my T were only in 4's, but the packet said 6!! Wasn't happy! But then i think i want a slightly larger pot for mine and i still havn't found the 'right ones' and ive been looking for months!

Tesco also have little glittery gold drawstring pouches on 3-4-2 if you wanted to move away from the bowl / glass idea. Big enough to put stuff in, but not so big you would need to stuff it. They were really pretty too!
