I seen about 10 metres of cellophane with gold stars for just over a fiver, does that sound like I am getting the right thing?0 -

Hi, sorry if this has been posted before (I did a quick search but couldn't really find what I was looking for), but can anyone think of any alternatives to chocolate that are still within the gold theme?
I am thinking of making a couple of these up but my mother was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes this year, & although she is still allowed chocolate it obviously has to be in moderation so I don't want to fill it up with choc too much...
Any ideas?:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Any ideas?
I've seen sugar free Werthers in Tesco in gold wrappers, would these work? Or how about some diabetic chocolate wrapped in gold tissue paper with a gold ribbon round it.Debt Free: 01/01/2020

She said not to bother with diabetic chocolate when she was first diagnosed as apparently it gives you the squits
& she said normal chocolate is fine in small doses but since I was planning on making a few cupcakes as another small gift this year I think that'll be too much for her.
I did think maybe some nuts in some gold cellophane but that's about all I can think of & wondered if the crafty folks here had any other ideas! Thanks for your input though, much appreciated:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Don't assume diabetic chocolate is 'the same' as regular chocolate. It can have unpleasant side-effects, and the person concerened might not thank you for it, any more than you'd thank someone for a bag of prunes and 4 ripe figs.
Is there anything that's not confectionary that's gold-coloured? Small soaps/bath things? They might be more pertinent.
Edit:Snap!
*She said not to bother with diabetic chocolate when she was first diagnosed as apparently it gives you the squits* - looks like you got there ahead of me as I was composing a reply!
There's lots of lovely gold things around that aren't sweets, but I can only think of, well, gold, really! Chains, necklaces, braclets, rings - I'd happily have any of those, but not really the idea for this kind of thing!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -

Hmm I hadn't thought of gold coloured smellies - I will have a look today thanks for that idea!
